MIT issued an emergency alert at 10:48 on Thursday night reporting shots fired on the university campus. The school newspaper reports, "Shots fired near 32 Vassar St (Stata Center), police officer down. Please stay inside." That report is backed up by CBS News's Bonney Kapp who reports hearing "officer down" on the police scanner just before the MIT alert went out. For now, details are scarce, but the suspect is on the loose and considered armed and extremely dangerous.

Town is shut down hard. On the scanner, cops were asking that a person who was out walking be required to justify that. The guy was proned out, determined to be no threat. But, he was breaking the request by being out.
Don’t know if this has already been posted upthread, but here is something from Daily Caller about their mosque.

In theFBI photo he was wearing a white shirt. In that photo the person is wearing a black shirt. Unless he changed shirts, that’s probably not the guy.

Police now rushing to U. Mass Dartmouth.
Students report that they saw suspect at the gym and near the dorms since the bombing took place. Haven't heard any reports that anyone saw him there today.
Students they talked to don't remember him saying anything "political."
