Nora. The NSA collects everything in case they need to comb over it later for just this occasion. FBI, CIA probably all have access on a case by case basis.

ABC Radio News reporter said FBI have video of the expression of Suspect #2 when the first bomb went off — and it ‘is revealing’.

They can run an algorithm that can concentrate on length and content, they did this and ran a one mile square 24 before and after the event. They can then drill down the info. It is amazing what they can find.

Yes, they are officially Iranians, but as you say and recent years show that Western supporting Iranians would prefer to be called Persians here and abroad, in contrast to Iranians and especially not Arab.
However, I and the wife have talked with a number of Persians over the years here in our local area and they are NOT afraid to be Persian in America. They always appreciate that I call them Persians. They HATE what the radicals have done to their country and tell me that is the case of the majority in Iran.
As recent as my B/day (1/29/13) at a local resort, I talked to some Persians (easy to tell the difference between Farsi and Arabic). They had great things to say about America. But they don't understand why American has forsaken them and allow the mullahs to grow their world-killing nukes. I had no answer for them.
If that awful cult in Iran were to go away tomorrow, Iranians/Persians could become a world economic power. They are smart, aware, industrious, when not oppressed, have the resources, et al. They love Western civilization, with all our faults. Again, the dictatorship of a few. They are quite the contrast in the ME regarding Arabs and their death cult.
Last point: While sitting around the fire I asked them where their loyalties lie regarding Islam doctrine or freedom, which are non-compatible. In a nano-second they all said FREEDOM! We shook hands and had more drinks.

Very similar. The white baseball cap guy also used the cap to cover all his hair. In the image you can possibly see why. That thick crop of hair stands out fairly well.
If these people were tweeting, what language were they using? Were we told? If English, I would suspect that at least one is American. If it was some other language, I can’t guess why we were not told, because that would be an identifying feature.
Their looks alone don’t tell me much.

Ok...I went back and looked at the “group” photo. The second from left (white shirt, sunglasses hanging from shirt) look at his arm (the side next to the red shirt guy). It looks withered or a prosthetic? Look how he is holding it with his other hand.
Now to scrutinize “his” (if it’s him) FBI photo.
In the FBI video he is holding the bag pack strap on his right shoulder only.

He is trying to look American. The backward baseball cap is an affectation. I don't think they thought they were being filmed. They just wanted to fit in with the crowd.
