"The Newtown families and Gabby Giffords are in the gun debate to stay, and over time their voices will be more powerful than the NRA."
So said Newsweek's Eleanor Clift during the predictions segment on PBS's McLaughlin Group Friday...
"The culture of guns is beginning to go through a transformation in this country," she added.
Maybe she should say that with a straight face to the people of Chicago so riddled with the kind of gun violence pending legislation will have absolutely no impact on whatsoever.
But nobody seems to care about that - certainly not media members such as Clift.
Tis far more important to restrict gun ownership of law-abiding citizens.
The Newtown Families and Gabby Giffords will eventually decide that they have to get on with their lives and they are sick of being used as political props for charlatans.
Eleanor does not know anyone who wants the whitey riff raff owning guns. Eleanor and her pals don’t need guns as they have door to door car services, armed body guards and police details to keep them plenty safe. Besides if they don’t report on diversity race violence and crime, it does not exist.
There is nothing worse to Eleanor than a whitey surviving an attack by attacking back. Armed and independent natives is way to uppity and dangerous for socialist global “ruler” wannabes.
Yes. It's shifting from the old regime of hunters, plinkers, and target shooters to people who practice with their semi-autos and do concealed carry. It's increasingly about second-amendment rights and personal defense.
That ain't workin' in your favor, Ellie Mae...
Never trust anyone named Eleanor!
She is one of the rudest individuals I have ever seen attempt to engage a panel debate on anything. It’s ok for her to speak uninterupted on the McLaughlin Group program for years, but when it was Pat Buchanan, Tony Blakely, or the conservative on the panel at the time’s turn to chime in, she could not help to start interupting them trying to raise her voice shouting them down. It is disgusting.
LOL...that isn’t the point...it will make the STATISTS like her safer from her fellow Americans who will be disarmed, while she and her ilk will still have their weapons.
You have that right. We can count in literally millions if not billions of pages the bad laws that have been birthed by the victimization insanity and for what? Homicide rates still go up and down with they only thing that really seems to impact them being law enforcement and keeping violent offenders in prison. What worked 100 years still works today and all the gun control laws and bureaucracy that has accumulated since has just been noise in the machine meant to not control criminals as much as to produce power structures so that politicians can control citizens who have did nothing wrong.
Why aren’t they complaining that Ob@$t@rd used those families as props
i thought he was shooting in a backyard... the in-laws' backyard? for some reason, i don't think he was even at a shooting range...
Dream on Eleanor!!!
sooner = better
Someone should immediately confront such dummies in public, by saying that they should advocate a “trusted citizen program” in gun control cities rife with violence.
That is, a program whereby the police “shall issue” ballistics tested handguns, ammo, and concealed carry licenses to “willing adult persons of good character” in high crime neighborhoods, on conditions that the guns and ammunition are verified each month by the police, that all incidents in which the guns are brandished or discharged are noted as well, and that when not in use, the guns and ammunition are stored properly. Also that any gun or ammo lost are reported to the police immediately.
Because I bet a “totally unexpected” thing would happen. The level of violent crime would drop like a rock.
Because the genuine tragedy and inevitable emotional response of 100 should count more than the civil rights of 5 million.....[cue weepy music]
Please to not using "eleanor" and "cleft" in same sentence! Now where did I put that brain bleach????
But, I thought that king hussein, the royal monarch for the confused states of American, said 90% of the “people” supported further restrictions on our rights. What the heck happened there? On the other hand, if the dems that assisted in voting it down because their re-elections are at risk, that just tells me that they have no principles and need to be voted out anyway. As to the fig newtowns, some of them may tire of the spotlight but others will revel in the light of king hussein. As for mz. giffords, her hubby mark kelley-giffords, will try to remain relevant but will fail. The new improved brady’s I suppose.
Substitute “NRA” with “Constitution”
yeah, it's growing.
Eleanor is a ditz. I cannot think of a more descriptive word.
