A large explosion rocked the town of West, Texas, 19 miles north of Waco, on Wednesday evening.
A source tells News 8 that a large swath of the small town with a population of 2,800 has been leveled.

Looks like they just pulled the video...
Think they got some hate mail? :)
I think it’s a likely guess that many more people were killed in this than in Boston. Media won’t really jump on it until they get an exciting body count. That may take a while because I suspect many of those killed are now a red mist.
Interesting to see if the media or country cares. I doubt there will be any national conversation about hazardous industrial sites in residential areas (though I suspect if you total all the people killed in this country in industrial explosions it exceeds those killed in terrorist explosions by a ratio of 100:1 or 1000:1).
Think they got SOMETHING! I can't imagine why they would pull stock footage for an incident this serious.
Close to 11000 people listening to the McLennan County radio feed.
And 547 in the chat. Been a very busy two days.
The other tank on fire?
The other hydrous oxide tank on fire....
Willie Nelson’s hometown, I think.
What is it with April?
No, Abbott.
There’s a big difference between an accident and an intentional terrorist attack.
Both are tragedies, but one is murder. That makes a difference in coverage.
Let’s just hope this was an accident.
West is just up the road from the Branch Davidian compound, which burned on April 19, 1993, twenty years ago this week.
This is crazy week.
If I get blown apart because someone screwed up at a fertilizer plant, I think I’ll feel about the same as I would if I was blown apart by a terrorist bomb.
You’re right! How close?
