Thank goodness. Thank those Senators who voted against this gun grabbing bill.
THANK YOU ALL who called, emailed, wrote, and in general helped defeated this.

A quick online check, four GOPers were among the anti 2 Amendment likely votes...Toomey, Mark, Collins, and Mrs. McCain. (Might be in error, double-checking requested.)

What great news to arrive home to after a day of hard work! Now it is time for me to write my daily hate email to Arlen Toomey.

Obama will blame the vote on the bomber distractionThose damn bitter clingers! Too stupid to see that socialism is the one true way, they still have enough animal cunning to manipulate the system and foil their own best interests!

He switched his vote once he saw it was going to fail?IIRC by the majority leader switiching his vote, he reserves the right to bring it up again.

No worries, the man-child in the WH will do it through executive order. He can't. EO's do not have the force of law. To do that it would have to be an actual law.....

Reid is everything bad about America, and is doing his best to ruin Nevada on his way to the garbage heap. He is a fool.

Toomeys was only one of 14 amendments to S.649. I would like to see a tally of all of the amendments. The first four included Feinsteins ban on semi-automatic pistols and rifles, and Lautenbergs ban on magazines over 10 rounds. Also, are they still going to be able to pass the base S.649 without the amendments???? I want to see 100% failure to pass anything restricting the 2nd Amendment.Right. So what's in the base bill?

So then we get to stay on the damn edge of this cliff waiting for yet another vote? Just damn.

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
NOW, we need to make the anti-Constitutional clowns PAY....DEFEAT THEM AT THE BALLOT BOX!
"The prohibition is general. No clause in the Constitution could by any rule of construction be conceived to give to Congress a power to disarm the people. Such a flagitious attempt could only be made under some general pretense by a state legislature. But if in any blind pursuit of inordinate power, either should attempt it, this amendment may be appealed to as a restraint on both."
