Pressure cookers, aren’t as popular today, as they were 30 years ago, and I would suggest it would be difficult to buy one....pressure cookers available today are probably made offshore....I would think it a simple task to locate the prime distributors of these cookers, and follow up to the local stores/outlets....

This morning (on the radio) I heard that they are now looking at all the purchases of pressure cookers in the Boston area.

Huh? They can be purchased in any big store and most hardware stores. The local hardware near me even carries parts ( gaskets, blow-out plugs) for most brands and sizes.

Pressure cookers are about as rare as coleman lanterns or canning jars, ie not at all.

You can buy a pressure cooker in any Wal Mart, Target, Sears, etc.

They aren't as popular as they used to be, but you could probably find one at most Targets, Walmarts, and department stores, never mind kitchen specialty stores. They might only have one, but they probably have more in small towns and rural areas where more people are into canning. Walmart.com has dozens of models. Target.com has several, and I was able to confirm online that they're in stock at all of the half-dozen stores closest to me.

And things that were much more popular 30 years ago have a way of showing up at yard sales and thrift shops.

I have three. They sell them every day at Walmart, Ace Hardware, Sears, JCPenny, and many large grocery stores. They are also sold on amazon.com and countless other sites.

Here, allow me to help you shop. BTW, darn near everything comes from “offshore”.

Go to Walmart. You can buy them by the dozen.

I think my mom has two in her pantry.

Maybe it depends on your location. The more rural your area, the more you will find.

Yeah, pretty hard to find these days ... unless you're in your bath robe sitting in front of your computer!

Of course, a careful bomb-maker would be well advised to stick with brick-and-mortar, or even better, garage sales.
