“I used to get that bogus “McAfee Warning” when I tried to visit Free Republic, b/c Marxists keep reporting it as “dangerous” to dissuade folks from visiting”

Uh no, its because the anti-virus software detects malware on the website, usually trying to compromise your PC.

Its one of two things, the website owner is trying to collect PCs or steal your information, or more likely they havent maintained security and were hacked themselves.

Back when it was revealed that Obama’s BC had been amended, Leo Donofrio’s blog got the McAfee warning on it - supposedly because so many people had reported some kind of financial scam. But he didn’t have anything financial on there at all, and allowed very few comments to even get through. I don’t remember all the details but what they were accusing the site of was not even a possibility. I contacted McAfee about it and their answers were unsatisfactory.

Around the same time McAfee on my own computer had the security updates disabled, while still acting as if everything was normal. When I called McAfee about it they basically said it was something done from their end but they wouldn’t tell me who did it or why. But they wanted me to let them take over control of my computer so they could fix it. No way. Not after all that.

I don’t use McAfee and wouldn’t recommend it to anybody.
