On Monday, Sal Russo, co-founder of Tea Party Express, the political action committee that sponsored Rand Paul's response to President Obama's State of the Union address, said that his group was considering a nationwide bus tour specifically focused on the Latino community. ..."[t]he bus tour is the iconic symbol of the Tea Party. When weve gone to some states, like Texas, weve had good Hispanic participation. Were trying to do a [national] bus tour that would be more directed that way.

A final decision on whether Tea Party Express will undertake a nationwide bus tour focused on the Latino community has apparently not yet been made.
At the national level, the Republican Party has seen support for its candidates decline within the Latino/Hispanic community over the past decade.
*snip*
The Tea Party movement, which has always had a tense relationship with the Republican establishment, has a stronger track record of engagement with the Latino community.

And as far as I know, the tour isn't set in stone...who knows, maybe it will not happen.
I'm reserving my comments on something like this by a Tea Party group for now.
I'm wearing an armored flack catcher...lol
Why don’t you invite Newt along, and Callista too. They speak Spanish you know. Newt even converted.
What are their plans for the Asian, African-American or Caucasian-Focused bus tours? Just wondering where everyone would fit in. Apologies for anyone I've left out.
Why dont you invite Newt along, and Callista too. They speak Spanish you know. Newt even converted.Oh I am making decisions for TPX now? They will be surprised to know that...
So Newt is now Spanish? I didn't know you could convert to another nationality.
I'm the one that brought up that Gingrich has a Spanish outreach website years ago here at FR.
Tratar de ponerse al amiguito
Are you the one who invited Newt onto the TPX the first time, too?
I think you left out the Liechtensteinien/Americans.
BIG voter bloc
The previous bus tours were reaching out to all Americans.
When was the first time Newt appeared at a Tea Party Express rally?
Onto the bus, Synchro. It was controversial because the Tea Party movement was intended to be independent and a force to influence the entire political process rightward, not just another GOP-e shilling front group for pandering. You and I exhanged words here on FR over it. Newt is nothing if not a panderer, even if compelling words do occasionally tumble out of his mouth in English. His actions belie those words. The antithesis of Tea Party.
Bingo! My point, exactly.
We don' need no stinkin' ________(fill in the race) tour - just an American tour.
Here are the people (speakers and entertainers) who were "on" the bus:
TOUR Details to Date:
Here are some of the people that will travel with throughout the tour:
You are zooming in on Gingrich as if TPX was sponsoring him, had him riding on the bus as if they were promoting him.
Contrary to that, This Tea Party organized the event in Milford, Michigan.
All republican and conservative type Presidential hopefuls were invited to speak, and by that Tea Party, NOT TPX:
Newt's first appearance at a Tea Party event that I know of was in San Diego on Thursday, October 21st - 12:00 Noon in 2010All major presidential hopefuls (Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, Gary Johnson, Tim Pawlenty, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Rick Santorum), as well as "non-hopefuls" (Sarah Palin, Rudy Giuliani, Mike Huckabee, Rick Perry, and Donald Trump) have been invited to participate. We expect most (if not all) to join us at some point during the tour, but will not have confirmations until closer to the rally.
Also invited are political figures more pertinent to Michigan, including Governor Snyder, Pete Hoekstra, Clark Durant, Thaddeus McCotter, Justin Amash, and others. If you would like to see them, we encourage you to directly contact them and request they participate. The more citizens who do the better the chance they will listen and decide to attend.
Although you probably think I invited him, I was surprised to find out that he was going to be speaking at a Tea Party rally.
I gave him about the best test that could be given to see how aware he was of the Conservative movement by getting in his path with my hand out and said to him "Hello Mr. Gingrich, greetings from Free Republic dot com."
The blank stare and quick little nod was very telling...LOL!
I only got behind Newt for the candidate when it was him or Romney.
Lessor of two evils thingie, I'm not going to ever do that again.
Well, Dubya was talking about it, but the rest of the party wasn’t interested, and probably not Cheney either.
Cubya wanted amnesty.
You will not win an election with national suicide
