Barack Obama's administration has cut the budget nearly in half for preventing domestic bombings, MailOnline can reveal. Under President George W. Bush, the Department of Homeland Security had $20 million allocated for preventing the use of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) by terrorists working inside the United States. The current White House has cut that funding down to $11 million.
That assessment comes from Robert Liscouski, a former Homeland Security Assistant Secretary for Infrastructure Protection, in the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15 that killed three Americans and injured at least 173 others.

The Department of Homeland Security is one of GW’s biggest mistakes. The Agency is an expensive joke that should be eliminated from the federal budget at the earliest oppurtunity.
On one hand I agree with you, but on the other I would say that the American populace got itself into a lot of entanglements that necessitated a budget for detection to begin with (to the extent that anything government is necessary nowadays).
I find myself agreeing with isolationists to some extent... staying out of other peoples’ business (instead of “nation building”) would probably have been the better tack to begin with.
If the US would’ve been a little bit less heck bent on social experimentation run amok, then we probably would be a lot better off for it right now; all things considered.

I think that is because Butch Napolitano told him that the border was secure, foreign threats had been eliminated, and that we are more secure now than we have ever been, except for those right wing conspirators (which is what the piddly little amount is for).
Obama’s selected cuts are designed to inflict maximum punishment on the people while the bloated staffs of the bureaucracy continue growing and their socialist spending flows freely.
Now come on you have to admit that their is some functionality to govt. Military, police, fire, they are required hierarchical positions to keep people safe. There are enemies that want us dead or hadn’t you noticed, and no it’s not all because of nation building or whatever crap you want to try and spin... Historically oppressed people have hated those that have freedom and so we are hated for no fault but being lovers of freedom. I certainly am a small government Conservative but a no government conservative sorry you lose me there. To your point on Homeland Security I agree it is a waste of resources especially now that as I point out it has FAILED miserably to do the job that it was created to do and it has been co-opted by government to become a civil liberties denier a freedom destoryer so yes it should be gone but some dept somewhere should have a budget to protect the American people from the emergence of terrorist IED’s or should we stop sending our kids to school? Stop going to the malls or sporting events because they are being blown up left and right by those that hate us for our freedom????
Its sad that the leftist would rather bleed than admit to the truth about their beloved hero. Is Obama really worth suffering for 8 years under incompetent administration for? Is Obama really worth dying for?
It makes it difficult to feel sorry for the leftist killed by Islamic terrorist and oppressed by their own leaders. And angry at the same leftist for bringing this upon the rest of us.
With the money to be put toward bounties for the arrest and deportation of illegal aliens and Islamic radicals.

As I recall the Department of Homeland Security was simply a consolidate of other departments and agenecys. I read that this is the best way to downsize government to consolidate then quietly eliminate redundancy.
Has anyone, in or outside the Hussein regime answered this simple question...?
How is it that the proposed butget had a huge increase from the previous year, but a 3% reduction via the sequester triggered 2-digit reductions in critical budgets that mostly affects working net positive taxpayers?

They are for getting them (large mass) all upset. And it is working.
