WASHINGTON — The FBI is taking charge in the criminal investigation of the explosions at the Boston Marathon.
The announcement came Monday night at a news conference in Boston whose participants included Richard DesLauriers, the agent in charge of the FBI in Boston.
Also on Monday night, the FBI said it had set up a phone line for members of the public to call with information about the explosions to contact the law enforcement agency. The call-in number is 1-800-CALL-FBI (1-800-225-5324), prompt (hash)3.
“No piece of information or detail is too small,” the FBI said in urging the public to respond.

Didn't look pink to me; could have been the film.
Not sure I could go back to the photo on the web again, but have seen photos that don’t have a pink hue.
But they no longer use “film” in a camera today. They use sensors in the camera that generate the digital image.
So the Benghazi Team is hard at it.

Most likely an improvised claymor type, such as a grapeshot charge. Can be directional. Looking at the blast scene I did not see any craters, which usually indicates a directional blast.
They have jurisdiction, basically, when they say so. Thusly was it in Hoover’s day, too. Does anyone wonder why he stuck his nose in the Lindbergh kidnapping? Then again, for a long while they didn’t intrude on investigations of clear national importance. The Dallas police were the ones who nabbed Lee Harvey Oswald (and let him be killed). But if was hit or miss in the past, it’s less so now, and not just because of the endless federal laws. They can slap the words “national security” onto anything and who’s gonna say boo?
Don’t ya know the fbi will steer the investigation to fit some damn agenda they have.
