"Dear Friends: Our Mother, Gladys Zimmerman, has written a letter on the occasion of the 1 year anniversary of her son George's arrest. She has asked me to publish the following letter:"
"Today, April 11, 2013 is the anniversary of the most unfortunate arrest of our son George. I am writing from my heart and with incalculable gratitude to our family members, dearest friends, and those we have not personally met but who have nonetheless offered their unwavering moral and spiritual support. Those who read this letter should do so of their own free will, and do so because they are interested in its message. If you read this letter with the hopes of finding material to mock or rebuke – please stop reading now, because this letter is not intended for you.
April 11 2012 will be forever remembered by the Zimmerman family as the day the justice system failed us as Americans, and as a consequence an innocent man was arrested for a crime he did not commit, solely to placate the masses. George was charged with murder. By confusing the public and manipulating perception in order to sway the 'court of public opinion', Benjamin Crump & co. finally achieved their 'first base' victory.
A year later, we find ourselves – as Mr. Crump put it – in 'third base' posture: we are awaiting trial. Throughout the past year, as evidence came forth and was later published, we have fought at every turn to be certain George is afforded a fair trial and equal protection under the law.

How long until she is branded a racist?
Roger that. How dare her speak ill of saint trayvon (martyr and possible look alike to king hussein’s son) This will not stand. She must be vilified and made to apologize for such a travesty. NOT!
Excellent ending:

Interesting that a President who likes to compare himself to Lincoln would have informed Mrs. Bixby that it was time to ‘eat her peas’.
Mrs. Zimmerman wrote a very good letter. One word stood out again and again - 5 times - as I read it.
The word was media.
And Mrs. Zimmerman was quite correct in placing the blame on the media for her sons’ arrest and incarceration. Yes, she mentioned Crump and the horrible things he and his type have done to their family. But Crump is a racist. Thats what they do.
But the media? The press? If only Zimmerman hadn’t been tried, convicted and found guilty in the media court of opinion, then George would be a free man today.
There fixed it.
When a person is “found not guilty”, it means just that. They were FOUND to be, beyond a reasonable doubt, not guilty as charged.
It doesn't mean they are “innocent”. Most people that are “found to be, beyond a reasonable doubt, not guilty as charged”, are actually guilty, but the prosecution could not prove the charges they made to the jury “beyond a reasonable doubt”. All those qualifiers are absolutely necessary. “Not guilty”, alone, is very misleading.
Others, who are known to be a criminal element in society, are GUILTY of something, they just weren't charged with that or they weren't caught doing it yet.
In this case George Zimmerman is INNOCENT, no matter what the court or a jury says. He was unjustly arrested. No crime was committed, which is why he was not arrested at the scene.
This trial should be a slam dunk for George to win.
BUT, He was arrested and shouldn't have been. He was charged and shouldn't have been. He is going to be tried and shouldn't be. He was maliciously tried and convicted with false evidence in the media and shouldn't have been.
His attacker has been portrayed as an angel in the media and shouldn't have been since he was a drug dealing PUNK with a huge chip on his shoulder.
OJ was found not guilty of murder, Terri Schiavo was found guilty of being alive, and is DEAD. I am very afraid for George Zimmerman's chances with today's courts. I weep for my country's demise.
