ILION, N.Y. Remington Arms will be staying in the Mohawk Valley for the foreseeable future. Two days after sources say Remington Officials met with three State Senators and three Assembly, U.S. Congressman Richard Hanna announced that the Pentagon would be awarding Remington an $80 million contract. In the meeting, sources say, Remington told the State lawmakers that they were moving forward with a $20 million upgrade to their plant that employs 1,200 people.

I called this last week or so, based on the expansion plans, state grant and so on. All of which has been in the works since before this situation turned serious.
Maybe we can make 'em hurt enough to divest Marlin, at the very least.
Wehrmacht: Sturmgewehr
remember smith and wesson?
remember old man at rugger? (gone now)
those two recovered from their errors.
they learned the $$$$$$$ hard way.
remington has a government contract. that is all they are interested in. cronies.
guess one arms maker will arm the tyrants.
if they are also the same ones who make remington ammo, we may fare a lot better off, as most, if not all, their ammo sucks big time.
They do make some damn good shotgun slugs. Particularly the Copper Solids and Accutip sabots.
What a shame.
How crazy is it for a State to want to ban guns and then pay 80 million dollars to keep a gun manufacturer in their state.
We have some fudged up government in this United States.
Not crazy at all when they only want certain people to be armed, not the average law-abiding citizen. And then there’s always Mexico.
They made their bed.
Aren’t most Remington shotguns made in Russia by Baikal now?

Just sent an email, informing them their products will no longer be needed by me.
I’m sure they won’t care. Just as I don’t care. Once I shoot up what UMC I have lying around, they will no longer be in my basket. And...looks like Mossberg was the good choice all along...
The only Remington firearm I own was made by the typewriter company.
still refuse to buy a s&w.
I would pay twice as much for Federal .22 over ‘Thunderbolts.’
I guess they will also sell as much ammunition to the government as they can, too.
Stupid, short sighted decision. Texas or Florida would be far, far better!
God, I remember my Dad had a Remington portable typewriter. Totally crappy. A space bar that would skip two to three spaces at times and keys that would constantly jammed. But he stubbornly held on to that typewriter for years until I finally got him to buy a Smith Corona portable(this was the mid-70’s).
Their electric razors sucked too.
You do not know how good I feel about now that mine are Mossbergs.
