Sheriff's official says a suspect has been arrested after a stabbing attack at a Houston-area community college campus left 14 people injured, including 12 that required hospitalization. At least a few victims are listed in critical condition.

Lone Star community college's campus in Cypress posted an alert on its website just before 12 p.m. warning students of two armed suspects and saying one person remains at large. The alert warned people to seek shelter in a secure location.

From the same KHOU-TV

A witness said there were two guys running down the hallway and randomly stabbing students in the Health and Science Center. Other students rushed to help the victims until emergency crews arrived. One was “bleeding profusely,” according to the witness.

Other victims were reportedly attacked in the technology building…

They are searching for at least one other suspect. He is described as a white male with shoulder-length brown hair, dressed in black with a backpack, according to unconfirmed police scanner reports.

"Gun-free, Knife-free, and Fight-free zone." Clearly needs a Luddite protection zone.

Yes I saw that young man tell the reporter he wished he had a gun. The statement he made may never see another replay over the air waves!

I would be careful of that argument. Knife victims to hospital. CT victims to morgue. The argument you are making will get decimated n the press.

I wonder what the ratio is of trained martial artists who could and would EASILY disarm this clown (me included) to that of the untrained who could not.

Young lady just interviewed said the guy who did this carried around a stuffed monkey around campus! White guy with brown hair, wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

>>> >>> a report from KHOU-TV said a fight led to the stabbings

>>> Gun-free, Knife-free, and Fight-free zone.

>>> What else did the school miss?

They missed “Report Free Zone” and “Stab Free Zone”

No problem, they’ll just prohibit knives.

Yep...What a shame...Like I said, I’ve already called the numbnuts in Austin to get that bill through this session...

Oregon has no restrictions on their CCW’s on school campuses, and that seems to have worked out rather well so far...

The Texas Leg has dragged its heels on this issue for two whole sessions (4 years)...Time for Texas to grow up...Grow a set...

The UK has soem zany knife laws...guns are practically non-existent, yet people still find a way to kill. Who knew?

There was a story here about a knife surrender day in the UK, similar to gun buybacks here. I did a little research, and there is an age limit for carrying a long blade (I think over 3 inches). A minor is not able to possess anything longer, not even if he buys a kitchen knife at the store and brings it home in a cardboard box. If you’re under 18, you can only hold a long knife within the confines of your own home.
