Never before has such a comprehensive survey of law enforcement officers opinions on gun control, gun violence, and gun rights been conducted
In March, PoliceOne conducted the most comprehensive survey ever of American law enforcement officers opinions on the topic gripping the nation's attention in recent weeks: gun control.
More than 15,000 verified law enforcement professionals took part in the survey, which aimed to bring together the thoughts and opinions of the only professional group devoted to limiting and defeating gun violence as part of their sworn responsibility.
Totaling just shy of 30 questions, the survey allowed officers across the United States to share their perspectives on issues spanning from gun control and gun violence to gun rights.
Top Line Takeaways Breaking down the results, it's important to note that 70 percent of respondents are field-level law enforcers those who are face-to-face in the fight against violent crime on a daily basis not office-bound, non-sworn administrators or perpetually-campaigning elected officials.

I posted this earlier. Didn’t get any responses from ANYONE. Hopefully you do. Very informative survey. It appears to be valid but who knows these days? I liked what it had in it. Maybe it should be provided to our “supposed” representatives in the house and senate. Not sure how to get that done so that it actually gets a look by them. Not sure if the anti’s would care anyway. Wait. I’m almost positive they wouldn’t care.
FTA: “Contrary to what the mainstream media and certain politicians would have us believe, police overwhelmingly favor an armed citizenry, would like to see more guns in the hands of responsible people, and are skeptical of any greater restrictions placed on gun purchase, ownership, or accessibility.”
I don’t much care for them saying that people should be required to pass a proficiency test to own any weapon, but I don’t fundamentally disagree. People don’t shop for guns like they shop for cars or televisions.
If our gun culture was more permissive, we would have gun shops that would allow people to take guns on a test drive, among other things. Proficiency tests, to me, smack of an infringement, but then again, our Founders never expected that we would be prohibited owning military-grade weapons nowadays, otherwise they’d know that we aren’t legally permitted to own them, train with them, Hell, we can’t even get ammo for them these days!
Pretty significant survey. Like the idea of the multiple choices

LOL! No. I’ve been away for the computer for a day or so but I see at least 2 more posts relating to the cops survey. Not a bad thing since some may have missed mine or yours when we posted them. Too good data to let is slide.
