Press sensationalism and the 24/7 news gluttony cannot be entirely blamed for the perception that this country is turning into an overstuffed cage full of crap-throwing chimps.

Good thing I chose to live out in Nowhereville several years ago. I just watch the far-away insanity on my big screen and shake my head while others proclaim "This just happened only one mile from me!" every time these incidents occur.

it's not you it's the news media.

there are a trillion times a trillion events that happen in a country of 330 million people. yes there will be a few nuts and a few nutty people in that huge number . practically anything can and does happen . that does not mean that it is a normal or pervasive occurrence. the news media cherry picks one out of those trillion trillion events and keeps making that what everyone talks about . the truth is a mass shooting is a statistically non-existent event. you and practically everyone will never encounter a mass shooter, 50 people get killed by 50 different lightning bolts per year in the USA . that doesn't mean that it is likely to happen to anyone. it is not worth talking about and definitely not worth taking away all our individual gun rights .it's not worth this because it practically never happens and it didn't statistically
