On Monday, Rasmussen Reports released the results of a national telephone survey which found that 69 percent of Likely Voters agree that "the U.S. military be used along the border to protect American citizens."
The survey of 1,000 Likely Voters was conducted on April 3-4, 2013 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.
The rather overwhelming results come amid recent reports that the Mexican drug cartels are now operating well within the U.S. borders....

The problem with sending the military is that some kids are going to fall back on their training when they run into a group of armed smugglers. The smugglers’ family will sue, supported by some immigrant rights group and the DOJ will put the soldiers in prison.
Colossal waste of time and money. Bush, 43, sent reservists to the border for a year, but they weren't allowed to have bullets, they could only be an extra set of eyes for the BP. They couldn't make any arrests nor detain any illegals they encountered.
So, I don't see the point of sending them down there. zero has cut the number of BP agents under the guise of "sequester", so we would have military on the border being extra eyes for fewer BP agents. Sending the military to the border sounds like an exercise in futility to me.

The Senate “Gang of Eight” is winning its media offensive to make amnesty seem inevitable. That could cause some in Congress who might vote against amnesty to crumble under pressure. We need to show our elected officials that Americans will not accept excuses for passing an amnesty!
Illegal aliens and immigrants from enemy nations or those just wanting to rip of our welfare system cause serious problems on many levels: take away jobs, squander our resources, harm the environment, commit often horrific crimes, pose national security risks, etc. It is insane to reward them just for breaking our laws.

Terrorists would love for us to stop protecting our borders and provide a path for citizenship for illegals. What an easy way for the to infiltrate and raise their children to be future terrorists.
How about putting them in Mexico. Have our military patrol the border but in their country not ours. You can’t be against this as securing a countries border is a traditional duty of the military. I think we should occupy the first five miles of Mexico along the whole border and send them a bill for the invasion of our country they have mounted.
You need the military and ICE because of the posse comitatus law. The military cannot really arrest anyone(except other military), only detain.
You are woefully ignorant. In this country we have the posse comitatus law. Try to educate yourself. Guarding the border is exactly what the military is supposed to do.
