Junk science is fraud and should be treated as such. It’s a criminal enterprise.

“So...what I’m wondering is do they award PhDs to candidates who just make stuff up? Seriously...did the reviewing committee sign off on this canard? Was this Marcott actually awarded his PhD on the basis of this thoroughgoing fraud? I mean...if all you have to do to get a PhD is to pull a load of crap from out of your buttocks and shove it before some gullible rubes on a committee, then I could qualify for at least one PhD a month.”

You misread. His PhD thesis did not have any of that stuff in it. it was his later paper which supposedly was based off his PhD paper that had that stuff in it... that apparently came from nowhere, until MacIntyre et al pulled the details out and showed that he had shifted many of the negatively influencing modern proxies towards the past, leaving only the positively influencing proxies in the most modern period.

Part of what it shows, is at least in this case perhaps the PhD program had some rigor, as opposed to the journals peer-reviewed process.

“Politicians want corrupt science to pave the way for bigger government, more taxes and power. I don’t think he’ll be getting a medal. “

Though he is quite a big government, social programs, leftist himself.

They have been teaching this lie to our children in schools all across America for decades. They kicked God out of the education system and introduced the notion that man can destroy what God has created.

Read the book of Revelation some time!

ANYONE with a brain for science knew it was crap just from looking at the graph. The total ‘change’ they were talking about was a half a degree. That’s right, 0.5 degF., in a graph that supposedly covers hundreds of years. The problem right off the bat is that there was no way to measure something close to a half a degree from TREE RINGS

Well, yes. BUT... BUT dems don't 'do' science the way conservatives do - they do it like a popularity contest in high school. If the cool kids all agree - then it's THE TRUTH. They don't need no stinkin' facts...

And just how many factors, other than temperature, can affect tree growth??

Tree rings from trees in the western US were at one time used as proxies for rainfall: more rain, wider rings. Somehow they got changed to proxies for temperature.
