“We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents” (shortened)

Via Legal Insurrection, between this and Krystal Ball’s Socratic dialogue with a five-year-old about gay marriage, evidently it was indoctrination weekend at MSNBC. The novelty here isn’t the sentiment, it’s the candor. Hillary made this same point more digestible for the public by ladling on warm-fuzzy sauce about a “village” raising a child together. (Similarly, don’t think of huge government programs as budget-busting liabilities. They’re Christmas presents!) Harris-Perry had 30 seconds to give her version of the same point; when you’re operating within those time constraints, there may be no way to make the pitch in terms less creepy than this. I almost want to congratulate her for throwing a word as clammy as “collective” in there. It shows a certain bravado.

Here’s your counterpoint, from 2011, on whether the U.S. is “investing” enough in education. Another half-trillion or so ought to turn things around, I think. No wonder Ron Paul’s getting into home-schooling.

“and be one flesh”

That one flesh is the child - children

Only one has the right to claim it

The most startling thing about it was her American accent. How can someone with an American accent talk that way? I know the answer. The words just don’t match the visuals.

If that surprises you then watch a few of her weekend shows, her emphasis is much like Sharptons : victim class based Marxism.

Except she frames it like a ‘professor’ (which she says she is) and she and all her Marxist guests look ordered to smile and be upbeat on camera to not scare viewers away while most of the show is about the oppressed being used and abused (seems like Sharton's scowl is more appropriate )

A recent segment was :”How to be a good ally” and its was about how divergent victim classes :gays, blacks .... should defend each other’s interests, interests that are not their own.

So the white male heterosexual Christian would be on obvious non-ally, unless he feels victimized by 'the rich' for example..

Parents who don’t do what we’re doing are brainwashed themselves. They’ll say, “what about social skills?” Which can be rephrased, “It takes a village.”

Now I know why Golda Meier said “There will be peace in the middle east when the arabs love their children more than they hate the Jews”

Those are words of wisdom to a Western mind, but not to a Muslim mind. Strapping explosives to your child to blast them into paradise as martyrs is an act of love. If we fail understand that is how they think, we will never accept the truth there can never be peace until one side or the other is annihilated. Islam forces that truth upon us.

You need ammo for the stand you’re trying to make.

Depending on your denomination, you might find much of this disagreeable. But he does a great job of taking on the culture.

Even Allan Bloom, the homosexual philosopher has some great critique and warning about pop-culture in Closing of the American Mind.

What "we" as a society have to "break through" is the idea that your life, your children and your income belong to the State.

There is no place in a free society for people who would employ government power to destroy all of life's mediating institutions (especially the family) so that they may rule over you, for their unearned benefit. But that is precisely what the Progressive Left is doing, and increasingly coming out of the closet about their true intentions.

Dark times lie ahead.

People like them must have something important inside that isn’t properly connected or that doesn’t function correctly.

I think it's fairly simple. Inside every committed American leftist beats the heart of a Little Stalin. They think they know what's best about everything, how everyone should live, what is right or wrong, and they have NO qualms about trampling the rights and freedoms of anyone else if that gets in the way of their shaping society as they see fit.

These people are totally amoral or worse, and they fully subscribe to the notion that anything that advances their cause is justified.

The COMMUNISTS that are pushing this idea should be stood up against a wall and shot.
We don't need Marxism.

Marxism-—destroy the natural family-—obliterate the concept of mother and father (Natural Law (Common Sense)). The dehumanization of little children-—to remove the experiences that create Reason and Morality.

The irrational concepts of Marxism is against Truth (God) and removes Reason (Natural Law Theory). St. Thomas combined Faith and Reason-—he reasoned Faith as far as he could go with Logic (syllogisms)-—so that Christianity not only is based on Natural Law Theory (Common Sense) it is Rational.

Now, Faith is contained in ALL people. You can’t erase faith—it is part of human nature because the intellect is so limited. Christianity created cultures which used Reason (science) to a degree—only because of St. Thomas Aquinas.

Without Christianity there would be no Age of Reason-—no Renaissance-—no Charity-—no individualism.

The collective is Marxism-—the dehumanization of the individual-—to put them in a collective so they can erase their identities—their sex—their uniqueness, etc.

It is intrinsically evil-—like Eastern mysticism which is the melding of all into one-—it destroys the individual. When you do that—there is no possibility of Freedom. NONE. Only Judeo-Christian ethics enshrine individual freedom. Kill the Judeo-Christian God-—and there is no such thing as Natural Rights.

I thought we abolished Slavery in the Civil war stating that it was horrible for people to belong to others.

Barak Obama’s Legacy: First Black President, who brought back slavery to America.

Cut the TV, pal. Seriously - cancel your cable account. Do it! We have not had TV in our office for 6 years and are much better people without it. Of course we do watch movies and rent family shows or appropriate flicks for kids and us when the kids are in bed. No antenna, no cable - you will be a better family.

Seriously. You want to see Christians “go jihadi”, threaten to take our kids.

unfortunately, most Christians hand over their kids willingly almost every single day and have been doing so for years when they send their children to government school...

Yes. These are the same suburban welfare queens who like to call people ten kinds of names if they don't want their property taxes raised to pay for their kids to play games or be in clubs at school. Sure, it's THEIR kids, but they want extra money from me to entertain and recreate them. That's right, soccer moms...I just called you all a bunch of welfare queens.

You could update Golda Meier’s quote for the bigger picture with this as well:

There will be peace when the left loves reality more than they hate the truth.
