(CNSNews.com) - Hours after the BBC reported the death of conservative British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Monday, President Barack Obama still had not issued a statement on her passing.
But last week, within half an hour of film critic Roger Ebert's death, the White House tweeted a statement from the president.
As of 10:00 a.m. EDT on Monday, there was still silence from the White House on Thatcher's death, which the BBC tweeted at 4:49 a.m.

Point taken. Thanks!
I understand what you are saying, so let’s see if they had time to respond:
White House Schedule - April 8, 2013

No public schedule.

I would expect that the death of one of our Ally’s previous executive leaders would warrant a very quick acknowledgement, except when schedules prevented such action. Clearly, their schedule was not in the way of a well thought out and timely statement.
I can’t really say, as I haven’t read between any lines. Perhaps the WH has private schedules?
Powell can KMA too. His statement reads nice, but it is actually BS.
Nope. Every day they publish a schedule that usually begins with the Presidential Daily Briefing. Obama’s day usually starts with that breafing at around 10, give or take a half hour.
I’ve figured out what you mean by “I don’t read between the lines,” it really means you refuse to think. In fact, I provided a link to you where you could have actually looked for yourself at his normal schedule, yet you didn’t even bother to take that look.
I think it is fair to use our observed FACTS that we have learned over the last 5-6 years to draw conclusions in the actions we see today. It is called CONSERVATIVE reasoning to consider history, fact and science as the basis for intellectual reasoning.
When she meets up with Ronald Reagan they will have a ball up there in heaven. What fun that will be.
I see that you’re quite adept at reading between the lines of what people say, kudos...if it was a private schedule, would it be published?
Why would you even believe the public schedule of this administration?
Chris Kyle’s family is still waiting for the call...
Zero....late as usual...
Everything you say is ridiculous. You are a liberal and an Obama supporter. You will defend him no matter what he does or says.
Anybody that takes you seriously has to be someone who is new to FR and hasn’t figured you out yet.
I don’t defend anyone, I just raise questions about what people say. There is a difference.
To be expected....the clown knows little about true leadership.
then I’ll read it for you...
Thats like saying silence speaks volumes...it really doesnt, it only says what one wants to hear.
LOL. What an utterly naive and disgusting comment. It clearly shows your limited ability to understand the evil in Obama's heart.
His delay indeed is purposeful and has the intent of showing the left that he has NO respect for Thatcher.
P.S. Go the DUmp and be with your comrades.
What is usual protocol for a president’s response in situations like this, and - yes or no - does Obama’s deviate from the mean?
Why is this a surprise? Ebert was a filthy, despicable, worthless, talentless punk who supported the nation’s Maoist Party at every turn.Mrs Thatcher played a huge role (along with Reagan,Pope John Paul II and others) in bringing down the Berlin Wall. Most of the civilized world cheered as it came down.Ebert,Osama Obama, and others, wept.
“...Zero will never know the privilege...never....”
Yeah, the communists were pushing to get him on Mt. Rushmore, but there wasn’t enough physical room for the ears.
I do not know.
