(CNSNews.com) - Hours after the BBC reported the death of conservative British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher on Monday, President Barack Obama still had not issued a statement on her passing.
But last week, within half an hour of film critic Roger Ebert's death, the White House tweeted a statement from the president.
As of 10:00 a.m. EDT on Monday, there was still silence from the White House on Thatcher's death, which the BBC tweeted at 4:49 a.m.

OMG!!
Effing weasel.
More his type of thinker.
...it’s a wonder he didn’t call out an Indian chief.......
Of course.
No explanation needed, is there?
Margaret who? He’s waiting for his speech writers to load his teleprompter.
Does anyone here honestly think he knows who she was let alone care?
45 Mins after her death, he had not when I learned of it on FOX News.
Good grief has it come to this. I’m all for legitimate criticism of the president but this is ridiculous
My thoughts exactly. Sorry to see Ms. Thatcher go but she’ll be in good company. Unlike king hussein. (Roger who?)
Since he wouldn’t have anything {authentically} nice to say, he should just keep quiet. Great Britain doesn’t need his phony condolences.
That’s unfair to weasels. This one’s a jackal.
A totally classless one. This is right up there I mean right down there with returning Churchill’s bust.
Checked WhiteHouse.gov, twitter, and facebook, and still no statement. He is, however, still exploiting Newton on all of those.
Ø first task was to search thru the White Hut for a bust of Thatcher that he could send back to Britain, as a sincere sign of condolances and grief.
President George W Bush, Bibi and others released statements within the last hour - FNC read them. Crickets from the current pResident.
Checking around and George W Bush and Tony Blair have already released statements. So far nothing from anyone in this administration or any of the Clintons either which I find surprising because they are usually better at protocol for these type of events.
I don’t want his stinkin’ lyin’ phony statement. I’d rather he not say anything. Of course, he’ll do some lame insulting attempt.
Zero knows he is not worthy to speak her name. Mrs. Thatcher stands with President Reagan right now. Zero will never know the privilege...never.
