Former Tucson lawmaker Terri Proud, who was just hired by the state Veterans' Services Department, was fired Wednesday in the wake of her statement in a news story that menstrual cycles might be too problematic for women to be in combat. The department director who hired her has resigned.

Why? I fail to see the problem here.

Let's get this straight:

1. Boinking an underage teenage prostitute while on official government travel(Mendenez) -- Not a problem!
   
2. Failure to pay taxes even though you are going to be the cabinet secretary in charge of the IRS (Geitner) -- Not a problem!
   
3. Being elected president with marginal or nonexistent documentation -- Not a problem!
   
4. Sexual assault on a female employee and perjury (Clinton) -- Not a problem!
   
5. Ordering the military to stand down while a U.S. Consulate is under siege by terrorist resulting in the deaths of four Americans including the ambassador -- Not a problem!
   
6. Telling the truth about a real problem with women in combat -- Off with their heads!!

I would prefer to fight with anyone other than a woman shortly prior to or in their menstrual period.

There is a rather simple solution gentlemen. There are forms of birth control that stop periods altogether, right? (There used to be anyway) That would take care of both periods and the risk of pregnancy, and is likely what the advocates of women in combat intend to do if and when the situation ever really arises.

Notice too that her statement had nothing to do with her current job of caring for veterans, that is, people who aren´t in the active military any more. But, she violated ideological protocal so she’s got to go, and her boss too!

Obviously Terri Proud was not qualified for the job. In fact, she was not qualified for any appointed job in government since she could not get past the first two qualifications. 1) She does not speak fluent Political Correct 2) She does not lie very well.

Note the article says zero about Strickland's reasons for resigning. Was he shamed? I doubt it, frankly. My guess he was pissed and said so.

Jan Brewer...she sure can't dance. The minute you try to appreciate her she does something Country Club Stupid to zero out the positives with the Base.

Proud was tossed to the wolves without ceremony after the Consultants did the math. The estimated cost of wiping Brewer's feet on Proud's attempt at survival... zero. That's a shame, but it earned enough coolness points with the compliant press for them to omit much of this story.
