I don’t support rush’s sponsors to have rush pump sugar up my butt. I support them for the truth.
It’s the truth. The unthoughtfully considered rewrite of “marriage” after a few thousand years is a fait accompli. And rush is right: they brought it about by controlling the dialogue and manipulating emotion.
Most straight people, want their gay friends and family members to have healthy, happy lives. Most conservatives appreciate freedom for all to live the life of their dreams.
But we did not get out in front of the media and the low info voters and define and explain freedom for homosexuals under the constitution and fight for their right to live as they chose while equally fighting for the rights of the religious to live as they chose, both sides stopping at the point where their happiness impedes the other’s.
In some ways it is the fault of the religious. They spent so much time worrying about other people’s sins. The Bible warns against it. Just because you wear a necklace calling yourself a Christian or Jew doesn’t mean you don’t sin. You do. In the public discourse, focus only on your OWN sins. You are no cleaner than most others on the planet.
The problem was gays wanting their significant other to have the same rights and responsibilities as your significant other. That is a legal problem and we could have stepped up to the plate and solved it. We could have defined the new union as anything we wanted. We could have fought for it and pushed it and prevented what is now happening. We could have shown compassion for gays as human beings and tried to help. Jesus would have. I’m not Christian but even I know Jesus ignored people’s sins and tried to serve them.
Either you really believe in the Constitution or the Bible and the big concepts of brotherly love and true freedom or you don’t.
Amen. Well said.
Who in the world says Christians don't sin? Everyone does, and no one has claimed otherwise. The Bible instructs us to speak up about sin, but when we do, to make sure we aren't committing the same offense. Otherwise, Scripture tells us how TO judge sin.
Liars, thieves, and adulterers aren't running around, demanding people fawn over them and approve of their behavior. People are falling over themselves to cave to the homofascists. I never will.
" We could have shown compassion for gays as human beings and tried to help. Jesus would have. Im not Christian but even I know Jesus ignored peoples sins and tried to serve them."
Jesus ignored people's sins......what?? No. He did not.
Visit San Francisco, where you can see queers prancing naked in public, urinating on each other and drinking it, and parading their adopted children around in leather. Or, maybe you might be at a Catholic Mass when a bunch of them invade God's house and commit sacrilege against the Eucharist.
My compassion is damn well running at an all-time low.
You always post this type of stuff on the "gay" threads. You still don't get the point about Christians and homosexuals and sin. Christians do not believe that they are sinless and that gays are not. The big issue with Christians and sin is that the gays and their defenders do not believe that homosexuality is a sin. How many times must this be repeated until you get it? I am a Christian, and I do sin. I don't stand up in church or in the public square demanding that people accept my sins as "normal". All sin is bad. Christianity is about Christ saving undeserving sinners: "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8, NSAB)
I don't know where you got the idea that Jesus said sin was "OK" and that he didn't judge people. Just because he was among "sinners and tax collectors" did not mean he approved of their lifestyles.
