Chelsea Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are in contract to buy a $10.5 million apartment in The Whitman, at 21 East 26th St.
Come June, NoMad residents will be keeping up with the Clintons.
Chelsea Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, are buying a sleek, $10.5 million apartment overlooking Madison Square Park, sources said.
The Whitman, first built in 1924, is near the couple's current place, a rented loft in Gramercy Park.
The 5,000-square-foot pad, in The Whitman at 21 E. 26th St., is just a few blocks from the couple's rented Gramercy Park loft. Sources said staying nearby was a top priority for the pair.
Last Sunday, Clinton, 33, and her husband, 35, planned to take a hush-hush tour of the New Georgian-style pre-war with her parents, former President Bill Clinton and ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
Sources said the couple arranged a private tour of the building with Clinton's parents last Sunday and were surprised to find hardhats at work on a gut renovation. The former first family happily posed for pictures and shook hands.

But when they showed up, the building was swarming with construction workers, a source said.
The former first family wasn't ruffled, though, and shook hands and posed for pictures with the awestruck workers, the source said.
The four-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath spread is on the second floor and features oak floors, Italian marble bathrooms and elevator access.

The bathrooms are Italian marble, and the building features a gym and an elevator. Clinton and Mezvinsky were impressed by the quiet block and tight security, a source said.

The living room has views of the north end of Madison Square Park, and there is a private gym downstairs.
A number of A-listers, including Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez, toured the digs before the Clintons and Mezvinsky jumped on it, a real estate source said.
Clinton and her husband are set to close on the apartment in June.
Clinton and Mezvinsky liked the block's quiet vibe and tight security.
"It's a rare opportunity to live in a pre-war building with high ceiling and park views," a broker who has toured the building told the News.
The couple is set to close on the apartment in June.
The apartment was listed by two of Douglas Elliman's top brokers, Melanie Lazenby whose father George played James Bond in one film and Dina Lewis.
I don’t see a Holy Cross. But I am sure she has a Cross in a box somewhere (stolen from the White House).
Nice place. I wonder what she actually paid for it. Its selling price was $10 Million but whomever may have sold it could have done some favors to have a Clintoon on the property and may expect kickbacks.
bttt
I see the decor they chose is No Kids Postmodern European Sterile. Has all the warmth of an IKEA petri dish.
She did not steal, she simply thought everything in America belong to her family and that Americans owe them a living. Typical liberal mindset.
Maybe mom has some hand me downs that she can help these struggling newly weds decorate their first home....
No? I could care less! (sic.)
Her husband is a private equity guy right? That’s where the money comes from.
Dad Webb must be so proud!
regarding the father in law (from Wikipedia): “In March 2001, Mezvinsky was indicted and later pleaded guilty to 31 of 69 charges of bank fraud, mail fraud, and wire fraud. Nearly $10 million was involved in the crimes”
Coincidental amount of money?
Beginning of a dynasty! President Clinton II coming right out!
Oh that picture of her someone give her a carrot.

“THERE GOES THE NEIGHBORHOOD”!!!
I know we shouldn’t ‘judge’ a child because of their parents BUT where else would those two ‘kids’ get that kind of money if not ‘cashing in on their parents notoriety’?
Since Kennedy got (or is rumored to) the Ambassadorship to Japan, is there an Ambassadorship in the cards for this Clinton now that she apparently can pay well for it.
Hilliary’s been naughty...
Her bachelor’s degree in history really paid off.
Oh well, the neighbors should be happy. Once this trash moves in the vermin will move out...because there are some people too disgusting for even vermin to tolerate!
