SANFORD - Trayvon Martin's parents have settled a wrongful death claim for an amount believed to be more than $1 million against the homeowners association of the Sanford subdivision where their teenage son was killed.
Their attorney, Benjamin Crump, filed that paperwork at the Seminole County Courthouse, a portion of which was made public today.

I am not insulting the average Freeper...

BS. Now you’ve even insulted the moderator who zotted your post 50.
If I were you - I’d take a self-imposed time out and leave. Before you HAVE to.
You are having trouble reading. I did not call Freepers racists. I said there were some racist remarks made in this thread. True conservatives are not racists.
It is my opinion that when you allow it, it hurts the rest of us.
Since I quoted post 50 which got deleted, I’m guessing post 58 might be next. So I’m reposting my reply without any part of post 50 in it.....
You DON’T know all the facts. That’s just it. Yet you are doubling down on calling FReeprs ignorant and racist. A FReeper since 1999 notwithstnding - you are a total tool today.
If the “case” has not even gone to trail yet with Zimmerman......how can there be a settlement? This makes no senses
Wahhhh.
You’ve been told by numerous people you were wrong. Even the moderator took exception to what you said and did.
If you still have more to complain about... take it up with management.
In my experience, HOA's are loaded with whacky liberals... so perhaps these people are fully on board with the racist-in-chief's position on this one.
Jackpot!
When did I insult the Mod? You’re reaching.
He didn’t like what I wrote and he deleted it. He was similarly offended by a post I took issue with and deleted that.
That’s what Mods do and I have no beef with that.
I remain in favor of sticking to the important issues, which is a belief overwhelmingly held here, and that is the main thing. Diving into sewage tanks is not the idea of this site. The goal is to make America a better place to live by bringing to light its underreported negatives.
I just dragged that image into Google Image Search, and among the "Visually similar images" the GOOG coughed up was somebody's lost college ID:
Crump is slow to sue Zimmerman, because if he does, and a court finds Zimmerman to be immune from suit, then Crump gets an automatic judgement against himself for the costs of defending against his civil suit. The HOA can't get this sort of immunity, because the HOA can't engage in self-defense. Lawful self-defense is only possible by a living, breathing human being.
People mistake criticism of culture, as criticism of race...and the fact is the ghetto culture that Trayvon embraced is an inferior culture...nothing to do with the color of his skin, which he didn’t choose, but he chose which culture to belong to.
This announcement on the heels of the yesterday’s filing of the DCA appeal are no doubt connected. Look for a statement about this settlement to show up in Crump’s filing before the DCA as evidence that he is the Martin’s attorney and busily on the job.
Follow the money.
I posted the following on the wrong thread: They think that’s a lot of money. They’ll blow right through it. Tattoos and 22” rims.
My comments were not about race....the decision to make money and notoriety came from those made by The Parents. Period. You saying ..âLawsuits are the way of the land”...in no way excuses or justifies the ‘choice’ The Parents made to gain monetary benefit from their sons death...and equally so, purposely in full view of whatever audience swallowed their story.
So...the HOA is going to have to pass the hat to get the money, and one of the residents is...Martin’s father!
Because a racist Black jury would HOLD them liable for this, regardless of the evidence. And they likely didn't want to lose even more.
I think you’re absolutely right.
I was in a conversation about a work situation with an associate....I was stunned when she mentioned she could claim racism, which had nothing whatsoever to do with the situation we wanted to address.......when I said... “What!”.....she back tracked quickly, saying she was just kidding..... But I saw that this idea of “racism” is fast embedded even in those you’d never think would pull it. Needless to say I was more than disappointed this was even brought up.
“....I remain in favor of sticking to the important issues....”

A comment from a non-involved FReeper—perhaps you should stick to the topic of this thread (the ridiculous settlement with the homeowners association) and not busy yourself throwing around racism charges? Or, to put it more simply, “lighten up Francis!”.
My comment is that society has descended a little further into the pit when a development’s homeowners association has to pay money to the parents of a thug shot when a resident of that development shot him as he attempted to murder him. If you don’t thing having your head bashed into concrete can easily lead to your death, you’ve led a sheltered existance.
