Students at Riverside City College in California received a nasty surprise this week: Their recently-elected student government president is a registered sex offender.
Doug Robert Figueroa, 40, was convicted of kidnapping and then committing lewd or lascivious acts on a 14-year-old boy in 2005. He was sentenced to 10 years probation.
Earlier this week, someone posted a flier on campus revealing Figueroas status as a sex offender. The flier was initially assumed to be an April Fools Day prank, but Figueroa later confirmed the truth. The news stunned students, many of whom said they wished they had known before electing him to be student body president for the spring term, according to the Press-Enterprise.
Everyone is going crazy now about this story, said Amanda Warning, an RCC student and reporter for Viewpoints, the campus news service. After noticing the fliers, Warning went to a computer and found Figueroas mugshot on the online sex offender registry.
Students were also surprised to learn that RCC administrators knew about Figueroas status as a sex offender, but remained silent on the matter during the election.

The pervs can use him as the poster boy for the next stage in the “sexual evolution:” pedophile “rights.”
It IS California, after all.. don't people know how progressive their state is about these things?
California is over. It’s Mexico North. I fear that, after Amnesty, Texas is next.
It was a boy he molested, not a girl. For California college students, that is a badge of honor as well as a resume enhancer.

dumb
yep...if you’re a black perp or a homo perp, you’re going to get the benefit of the doubt....
Just think of it, only 6 months for each offense, without parole, would put them away for the rest of their lives.
