The most probable outcome of all these tensions is a low-level "tactical" strike from North Korea. But don't worry, it'll be "a relatively small attack that wont leave many people dead," Sue Mi Terry, a Columbia University professor who served as a senior analyst on North Korea at the CIA from 2001 to 2008, told Wired's Spencer Ackermann.

This latest North Korean tantrum is designed to extract more aid from the West. If Kim fails to get aid and satisfy his goons or if he actually starts a war and puts his arm chair Generals at risk, he and his wife will soon be dead.

If they do, we should retaliate by taking out the barbed wire fences, guard towers and minefields along the DMZ so that Northerners can escape to the south. That would hurt the North Korean regime even more than would nuking their cities.
