Umm, about that. Towards the end Ebert was a flaming liberal moonbat .... True. No love lost here. He was the sworn enemy to America by association. And I stand by these words.

Ebert was always a liberal. He just was more discreet about it when he and Siskel were at the top of their ratings.
To: SkyDancer
But he was an entertaining flaming liberal moonbat.

He was a nasty piece of work. A man full of hate.

That Ryan Dunn incident was embarrassing.

Cancer is an ugly and painful death. For that I sympathize. That being said, mostly when Ebert gave a thumbs up, experience taught me, I probably would not like the movie.

So you hated Citizen Kane, Schindler’s List, Casablanca and a bunch of other classic films then?

I liked Siskel. I could never stand Eggbert.

I don’t miss him at all, I never paid much attention to him when I did see him.

I always went with Siskel’s thumb. He was a Lib too, but he could really call movies correctly.

Siskel wasn’t really a film buff. He never went to film festivals and never wrote about film outside of his newspaper reviews. If he ever read book on movies it would be news to me. Ebert was a real cinephile and passionate about the artform.

When someone says “mostly” you are going to make us go through all the movies this lefty jerk ever mentioned?

Phew! You would think Mother Theresa had died again. As someone who watched Siskel & Ebert, I remember Ebert as rude, crude and mean to the softer Siskel. This was a man who accused the Bush daughters of wearing blue jeans to meet the Queen of England when that was obviously untrue. God knows, how many other false accusations he made against conservatives. I’m sorry he died in the way he did, but he was a nasty man.
To: ansel12
How did he vote on Star Wars, or LOTR?
