(CNSNews.com) - The federal Disability Insurance Trust Fund, which takes in money via a federal payroll tax and pays it out in disability benefits, ran a record $31.2 billion deficit in calendar year 2012, according to the Social Security Administration.
That means the trust fund has run a deficit in each of the first four years of the Obama presidency.
For fifteen straight years before Obama took officefrom 1994 through 2008the Disability Insurance Trust Fund ran a surplus. In 2007, for example, it ran an $11 billion surplus and in 2008 it ran an $889-million surplus.

The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
Entitlements bought the election in 2012.
As long as the markets let them issue 40 cents in Baraqqi/Bernanke/Geithner minibucks for every dollar in tax receipts, the party will continue.
Because once unemployment benefits dry up, the masses become "disabled" to survive.
Obama is a Marxist idiot.
Have you read about some of the disability payments that are going out? Drunks are getting on disability these days, no joke.
I volunteer at a food bank and work directly with many desperately needy people and a pathetic percentage of scumbags. My knowledge of federal disability programs is anecdotal and extensive.
It takes months, even years, for those with true disability to prove their cases and get help through SSI, into which they have paid when they were able to work.
On the other hand, if your kid is diagnosed with ADD, you get benefits.
As the parent of two sons with provable ADD, one of whom was also born with cerebral palsy, I say “humbug!” My kids learned to function well in the real world just like their peers, and government money had nothing to do with it and would not have helped one iota.
Good parenting did, including high expectations that they learn to function within boundaries and make the best of what the good Lord gave them.
They now each have two engineering degrees and are highly productive citizens.
I’d like to know how much of that Disability Trust Fund deficit is from spurious payouts such as diagnoses of ADD.
From the article: “the Disability Insurance Trust Fund ran a surplus. In 2007, for example, it ran an $11 billion surplus and in 2008 it ran an $889-million surplus.”
The Democrats took over Congress in 2007. That’s when it, and the country started the latest round of going to “H”.
The problem with the Democrats Overseeing Disability Determinations they want to overload the system. It is sad that there are people whom paid into the system for years, and when the time comes for the probability of disability determination - they have to prove that they are truly disabled. Some of the people with disability whom have gone to college and have a college degree and student loans - will be shocked to learn that they still have to pay the student loan and the disability income will garnished. the US Treasury can decide that the debt is actual a tax deduction and can collect on the tax owed and lo and behold you have to pay it irregardless. Whatever the government giveth they taketh away too.
Liberals take the best of ideas and turn them to scams to help their ‘victim groups’. Dems have set out to destroy disability for the people who really are disabled and give that ‘trust fund’ money to the citizens of Detroit... etc.
People run out of unemployment and file for Social Security Disibility and scam the system!!
I know 3 people getting it and there is no reason they can’t hold a regular job!
They need to catch the cheaters and make them pay back every cent with interest!!!
I wuish that cartoon was a joke!!
Los Angeles schools had classes in how to get maximum government benefits and it was part of a test to graduate from high school!
In the 70s I used to go up to a market and buy beer for the employees after work and one day there was a hot blond buying things with food stamps and she went outside and got in her new Corvette with a USC sticker in the rear window.
We’re totally screwed!
