Though the White House has been singing the sequester blues, the Obamas still have managed to scrape together enough cash to throw a star-studded concert celebrating "Memphis Soul" later this month.
The White House announced Tuesday that the 10th concert in its "In Performance at the White House" series would go on April 16. Set to perform are Al Green, Ben Harper, Queen Latifah, Cyndi Lauper and Justin Timberlake, among many others.
Though the White House last month decided to suspend official tours of the "people's house" citing the sequester, the budget cuts apparently have not impeded the concert schedule.

Meanwhile, the White House did host the annual Eager Egg Roll on Monday, which is open to the public.
And the April 16 concert will feature a special event for school children.
First lady Michelle Obama plans to welcome 120 school students for a workshop that afternoon on "The History of Memphis Soul." Featured performers are expected to speak to the students and answer questions during that event.

Why not? It’s not their money, and they’re entitled to it. Just like their once a month vacations, moving moochelle’s mother in law in and the 35 million dollar mansion the taxpayers are helping buy them in Hawaii.

I was channel surfing and actually heard Pierce Morgan say obama should stop taking these monthly lavish vacations. But, the reason he cited was for appearances.

Soetoro makes 400 grand a year for 8 years his wife doesn’t earn. His ghost written books bring in considerably less. He was a lecturer at U of C, not even a professor and his wife was making about a 100 grand in her affirmative action job. The Soetoros claim to be from middle class origins and given the numbers I just posted they don’t meet the criteria for a 35 million dollar loan. Where is it coming from?

But, hey..Obama is giving back $1500 a month of his pay. His girls might even have to use the same Iphone for more than 3 months.

Al Green was born in Forrest City Arkansas, near Memphis Justin Timberlake was born in Memphis and is NOT a soul singer, period. Just another dumb Memphis ofay.
All others were born somewhere else: Pomona,CA, Queens NYC, and Newark, NJ
And surely not a one of these names can sing the blues.
.... Heck .... If I was Obama .... with all of the war drums pounding and with this tension building around the world the past few days .... If I were the president .... the best thing to do under these circumstances would be to throw an extravagant and expensive party and invite A-List entertainers to romp around the White House in an orgy like atmosphere to show the world that America is definitely in control of the situation!!!
