New YouTube video from the Syrian battlefield shows rebels firing the same high-powered sniper rifle favored by U.S. Navy SEALs, leaving some experts wondering who the ragtag army of insurgents might train the guns on in the future.
The British-made AS-50, accurate from a distance of 20 football fields, is made for British Special Forces and Navy SEALs.

So just how much ammo do they have for this weapon? In the end without ammo it is just a big club.

I do think they need to find and terminate whoever is supplying the Syrians with these rifles. Chappaqua might be as good a starting place......

They probably got it through a muslim nation like England.
Could just as easily been recovered from a lost battle involving either our allies the Brits or our own U.S. soldiers.
So excuse me if I take offense to your unwarranted criticism of England.....They're in theater too..........

“a distance of 20 football fields,”
OK, how long is this? (Could mean the width, also.)
100 yards each? or 120 including end zones? or Canadian, or European?
Or do people think of the length of green inside a stadium? or the whole stadium.
I say the use of this term is evidence of dumbing down. Directed at folks who have been deemed, then treated as though they do not know how far 100 yards is.

your unwarranted criticism of England....
You're right, that was uncalled for. They probably got the damned thing from the United States.

lol...that is hilarious.
It's obvious these guys never learned how to shoot anything stronger than a .22 (who leans back when he shoots a big caliber?).

You're right, that was uncalled for.
It's not your fault, the title is misleading. The AS50 is manufactured by Accuracy International which is in Britain but it's not made exclusively for the British military as the article implies.
In fact, if there were one for sale, you could buy it here:
.50 cal rifles for sale
Virtually every weapon from a BB gun to a SAM missle can ultimately be purchased by anyone who knows the proper channels and can afford it.......

What's the big frikkin' deal? It's just a semi-auto rifle that shoots .50 BMG fer gosh sakes. You can buy a Barrett rifle just about anywhere.
It's not a super secret magic rifle or anything

Someone should alert Roger Ailes. It’s still the top story on his webpage.
