Col. McCormick wasn’t the most pro-Jewish person in the world, but then, in those days, conservatism in general tended to be anti-Israel.

"Really? Reno. For gun rights. Ironic choice."

No, not as good as Arizona or Texas or South Caroline, but they don't have the awful state income tax and sales tax that CA has. Still, they are more moderate regarding gun laws than CA.

I fear a time is coming soon when magazine ownership will prove a lot more decisive than newspaper ownership...

Not just the media, but pop culture too. I've been beating this drum for a couple of years now. I've never understood why we on the Right have allowed the Left to dominate pop culture. If we're ever going to reach, and deprogram Generation.com, we're going to have to do it through music, movies, reality TV, video games and professional sports. I'd love to see some group of conservative investors buy control of the big record labels and movie houses.

That's too bad...maybe he should've pulled a Ronald Reagan, fired them all, and replaced them with writers from the conservative blogosphere. After all, if the staff reporters were such hot shots, why did circulation suck so badly? No one says it's going to be easy, and some hard decisions would have to be made. But there's enough conservative talent out here -- reporters, anchors, writers, musicians, actors, even professional athletes -- it could be done if someone, or a group of people with guts, were willing to do what needs to be done.

I was referring to the implicit play on words -- "Reno". As in, "Butch" Reno, Clinton's AG and the deflagrator of Mount Carmel and the Davidians.

Not exactly a poster girl for 2A.

Jon Stewart should be shot out of a cannon.
