"I want to thank my God," Sanford said. "I used to cringe when somebody would say I want to thank my God because at that point I would think this is getting uncomfortable. But once you really receive God's grace and (have) seen it reflected in others you stop and acknowledge that grace and the difference He has made in my life and in so many lives across this state and across this nation."

MSNBC has made Sanford their #1 story this week.
Its ironic considering their position is ‘anything goes’ when it comes to morality, and with Al Sharpton having his own daily show.
I am more interested in his position on marriage (he didnt run off and marry a guy did he?) laws and immigration and guns than this stuff. With any luck this is water under the bridge and he will not pull a Cain.
Hey, look at Newts past and how many here were sure they wanted him as POTUS, yikes.
I just assume watch this one for a while and see how it goes.
I hope this thinking prevails. I am dismayed that the people of what purports to be a conservative state are even thinking of returning this dissolute individual to public life.
Not my district, so I can’t vote. But there are other ways to skin a cat
I don’t count on that particular instinct, self preservation. His instincts are more like a yowling tomcat when he smells a female in heat. He’s proven it by his bizarre behavior and his shamelessness is usiing his sons as props when his tramp is on stage, too! I’m a tea partied, and there were more than half of the tea party events women, not hot young bimbos but moms and grandmothers. You may have a lot in common with this cheat and liar, but I do not c
Good governance does not come from electing men of such low caliber.
That passage isn't about the prostitute. It's about hypocrites.
(Deuteronomy 19:15-19
One witness is not enough to convict anyone accused of any crime or offense they may have committed. A matter must be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.
16 If a malicious witness takes the stand to accuse someone of a crime, 17 the two people involved in the dispute must stand in the presence of the Lord before the priests and the judges who are in office at the time. 18 The judges must make a thorough investigation, and if the witness proves to be a liar, giving false testimony against a fellow Israelite, 19 then do to the false witness as that witness intended to do to the other party).
There were 3 things at work here. The Pharisees had no witnesses, the other adulterer was not produced and the punishment for their offense was the stoning they meant for the woman. This was a set up to trap Jesus but he knew the law. So did they. Had they stoned the woman, they in turn would have been stoned. They could have been stoned for simply accusing her. Read the passage. The oldest dropped their stones first. They knew the law. Their sin was the unsubstantiated accusation and Jesus called them on it.
Principles have been thrown out the window and the sheeple urge voting based on fear instead. Sad.
There are a few that still claim he’s a Conservative. Do true Conservatives disappear while in office and have foreign mistresses? The GOP has a replacement for Dead Ted.
Exactly. And there are those who will vote out of fear instead of principle. It's the reason we are circling the drain. What's one more flush?
I voted for Bostic in this election. Sanfords infidelity doesn’t bother me nearly as muich as the coverup and barrage of lies he and his people were spewing when caught. We will be sending one more liar to congress no matter who wins this election.
Well, unfortunately for you, you got outvoted by Republicans in your district. Maybe had first-tier candidates run against Sanford you could have defeated him, and if Paul Thurmond runs in 2014 you may get your wish, but as it is the choice that voters in SC-01 will face in a few weeks is between a 95%-100% conservative who cheated on his wife, lied about it, then confessed and has been trying to atone for his sins for the past 2+ years, and a 95%-100% liberal who is faithful to her husband as far as I know but will vote to kill babies, recognize same-sex “marriages,” raise taxes on businesses that are our only chance to create jobs, make law-abiding citizens subject to onerous and unconstitutional “gun-control” laws, create new entitlements for non-productive people to be paid for by productive people, force socialized medicine down our throats and give amnesty to illegal aliens. You may think that creating a liberal utopia is a small price to pay to show that mean, lying Mark Sanford who’s boss, but I think it’s cutting off your nose to spite your face. But it’s your nose and your face, so do what you wish; just don’t pretend that you’ll have a lot of conservatives agreeing with you.
How about the punishment for ‘promoting homosexuality’ as morally equivelent or superior to the Bible as Dems are doing quite successfully?
Once we put Dems in complete power and all 50 states are forced to marry gays so do we apply that adultery rule to married gays or just the opposite sex ones?
I’m going to bet a lot of Dems voted for him in the primary, just to give conservatives an excuse to stay home in November.
I don’t understand the thought process behind tolerating a “little” immorality will stop a LOT of immorality. It’s a progressive thing. If someone gets away with a lack of principle, they just keep going. And it sounds like you agree.
I doubt it. He has name recognition and voters have very short memories.
I think since now that he runs against a Dem if he loses then its 100% that a Dem gets in power.
Like I said, has he come out and announced his evolution on gay issues like the Dems have? Does he want DOMA over-turned?
How about giving illegals the vote like Dems demand?
And gun safety? Should only the gubment have guns and private citizens who have them be criminalized?
If he is against all those then I sure wouldnt support a Dem instead who supports them all.
If I were voting, I would vote for Sanford, but I sure as Hell wouldn’t like it, and I would never vote for him in any GOP primary he runs in.
Obama now says he evolved his position on ‘marriage quality’ based on the Bible teachings.
