They are relying on the “interstate commerce clause” as justification for universal background checks. Tell me this; how does one private citizen selling a gun to another private citizen within a state constitute “interstate commerce”?

Probably via Wickard v. Filburn.

It's a notorius case from the New Deal that still stands.
