A high-ranking Democratic New York State senator was arrested on Tuesday and charged with trying to buy a place on the Republican ticket in the city's next mayoral race, an effort that prosecutors said was part of a wide-ranging bribery scandal and reflected pervasive corruption in New York politics.

Five other politicians, all Republicans, were also arrested and charged with collectively accepting more than $100,000 in bribes in meetings in parked cars, hotel rooms and state offices, according to court papers.

Do we need any more proof that in New York, the Dems and Repubs are twin tails on the same semi-equine beast?

I read about a veteran, a conservative tea party candidate who the GOP listed him on the ballot under the Communist party - since they supported an (R) whose background is liberal. I don’t think it’s the people that keep it a liberal state but the leaders and all their ilk in the GOP party. Basically, IMO, liberals have hijacked the GOP nationally! We are fools to think otherwise.

I believe that is exactly what Bloomberg did. He was a life-long Dem. The year he wanted to run for mayor the Dem ticket was full.

So he switched to Repub. NY’ers wanted another Repub like Rudy. Look what they got.

A rich Commie Dem.

Give the case to Holder.

He’ll take care of things.

“I read about a veteran, a conservative tea party candidate who the GOP listed him on the ballot under the Communist party...”

Hm...how could they do that? In my state - USSR-WA - the candidate does that when he files...not the party.

The county sent it into the state. He filed correctly but the leader of the GOP sent it in. He investigated it and the state told him where they got that info for the ballot. I didn’t see any follow up on it - but that’s what I read. I’m sure something is going on - I doubt if he would drop it. We know it goes on - this article shows how the liberal wanted to ‘find favor’ with the GOP leaders. His opponent was an ‘R’ in name only - his background showed that. They (R) both were ‘new’ - no name recognition to oppose the long time liberal in office. IMO, it was to keep the long time liberal in office. The GOP works with the liberals as they are liberals themselves. Think about our last national election.

I'm more surprised that they mentioned a Democrat in the story... Usually, as we know, if it involves a Dem a party isn't mentioned... Obviously, the NY Dems are falling behind on their hush money payments to Rotoreuters...

(Probably due to that robust obamaconomy?)

If we started enforcing the bribery laws, Congress would be decimated.

NY State is the closest thing to the former Eastern Europe I have seen.

gov’t control of everything, corrupt, one-party rule, fleeing population, decayed manufacturing base - even the weather is the same.

And we must not allow anyone in NY to benefit from all that evil hydrocarbon stuff trapped in the Marcellus Shale that is under half of the state. After all to really get production you need to use fracking and that is evil. It's better that we be benevolent and let the citizens of our neighboring Commonwealth benefit...

Glad I moved out of the cesspool corrupted state but I still go back to visit family. I should be glad they only get to extort $26.00 from me crossing the bridge and tunnel tolls if round trip by car. Corrupt thieves...
