Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, will be nominated to be the next ambassador to Japan, the Washington Post reports.
"Looks like there will be a Camelot East — make that Far East: Caroline Kennedy is heading to Tokyo to be the U.S. ambassador. Kennedy, whose support for President Obama during his 2008 campaign was seen as crucial, had been widely talked about as a candidate for the plum diplomatic post, but now things have apparently been firmed up," reports the Post.

“On behalf of — you know — America, I offer a — you know — sincere apology — you know — for my Dad’s PT boat getting the way of the Japanese Imperial Navy’s destroyer during the — you know — War Against American Aggression.”
Considering the depth of the problems between China and Japan right now concerning manufacturing, currency, arms, the islands in dispute, N Korea and Kim’s bellicosity, and Japan’s economic debacle, I can’t imagine a worse pick other than, perhaps, Ashley Judd.
This isn’t the Court of St. James and Obama is making a huge mistake regardless of how competent the real ambassodor “under” the Clinton kid is.
We have a celebrity president being run by the DNC and now, apparently, The Real Housewives of NY is going live worldwide.

Sadly, that is the only qualification for most ambassadors, both Republican and Democrat. Do you remember some of the fools that prior presidents had as ambassadors?
With respect to the Caroline Kennedy / Kim Kardashian comparisons, I'd say that's an insult -- to Kardashian. As vapid as Kardashian is, you at least have to admit she made her own name and earned her own money. Kennedy is more like Khloe Kardashian -- famous simply for being in the right family and not good for much else.
