Feel horrible for the kid. I am a UK fan so UL is a rival. But I don’t mind their players. Their fans just annoy the heck out of me. I don’t blame his teamates for not helping. What could they do? Basketball players aren’t around those types of injuries often. That’s why they reacted the way they did.

That must be the first time in history that there is video of a leg that crumpled.

I don’t think it takes all that much bravery to play D1 basketball.

So where did you play?

The whole team on the bench went down like bowling pins. It was weird to see.

Twitter doesn’t pray. Twitter USERS pray. Some do. Others don’t. Some pray to victims. Not sure why so many have such difficulty with language. Others pray FOR victims. To God.

****I wonder if he had some previously undiagnosed condition****

It looked so unnatural I suspect that is the case, and why his teammates reacted like they did. Hard to process something that looks so unnatural as that.

I think it was more than looking away.

That break was compound, and most likely had blood hitting the players on the bench.

So much for “non-contact” sport.

His teammates have funneled their frustration and concern into kicking Duke’s ass. I love NCAA BBall

“I don’t care to see it.”

Believe me, you are doing yourself a favor not seeing it. It made me sick

Thank you for describing the fall. Sounds horrible. Scary if he had a previously unknown bone condition.

I’ve seen some horse racing accidents that are stomach-turning. And it’s bad enough watching animals get hurt, don’t want to see this.

Snarky is good. Ugly yes , painful yes , but he will heal. I was looking for any of the Cardinals -—dressed so daintily in their flowery patterned panties-—to man up and try to win a game. Time to ban basketball...someone might get a boohoo Jeez.

That’s what I’m thinking. When I first heard about this I thought there was a hard foul or people got their legs tangled together. Couldn’t believe what I saw, it almost didn’t look real.

I just watched a documentary on netflix the other day on the guy Portland drafted over Michael Jordan. Terrible I can't think of his name because that's what part of the documentary was about. He broke and hairline fractured his leg like 5 times and could never really be the star they wanted him to be, he had some bone condition and it makes me wonder if this kid has something like that— the guy broke his leg several times without making any contact. He's now in his 50’s and seems happy, owns horses, and says he can relate to their powerful but fragile legs.

A very strange reaction. Feminine is the only word to describe it.

I was watching it and one replay was more than enough. I was surprised they only showed it twice - usually they’ll replay it 20 times.

I have to say I wouldn’t be surprised if we find out he has cancer or some disease going on. That didn’t look like he was putting all that much stress on the leg when it snapped. One wonders why the bone was so weak?

I think it's because Hayes and Knight in many cases were the only father figure a lot of those kids had in their lives.

18 year old boys enlist in the Marines, go to Paris Island, and get sworn at by guys who make Bob Knight look like an amateur. We regard this as character building. Knight's sideline and practice persona was extreme for a basketball coach, generally within normal parameters for a football coach, and soft for a DI. A lot of young men respond well to that kind of pressure. And no one ever went to IU to play for Knight not knowing what they were signing up for.
