I really don't.
The Sunday shows are just media propaganda every week, and they just keep getting worse, and their litany of perennial guests become more and more scripted, expected and strident, and it is just unwatchable.
On Easter Sunday, it's nice to have the Cardinals, but I'm sure they'll be asked about the Pope Francis washing girls’ feet, and gay marriage, and basically opposed on things conservative and scripturally sound...
If this thread gets to 100 posts today I'll be surprised!
Well it IS Easter, AB.
But here after three days of church and a visit to Baltimore, it’s just me and husband and I am quite happy about that.
I alone will post 100 comments to the thread.
I got some thoughts about Bray’s essay. Just let me get my thoughts together.
I'm not certain how others feel, but I have been still stinging over the election results of last November and have been feeling less optimistic (daily) regarding the future of this Country.
We're in a period of the Socialist Left imposing their values on us. Since we have little representation from a so called opposition party, we are in a position of having to live with the agenda they continue to implement. That doesn't mean we have to like it.
My thinking, or rather, the belief I continue to cling to is that a plurality of the population feels the same way. I don't think those of Conservative ideology are fewer, just that we're feeling helpless.
I know we're going to need an actual leader to emerge in the coming months if we're going to end the feeling of helplessness and alter this destructive period. I also know that we have a tough opponent in an establishment that will likely promote a choice of Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton on us.
Today being Easter, I'm reminded to not lose my Faith.
I just woke up and missed most of the Sunday morning talkies. From the line up, I see I didn’t miss much.
These programs are propaganda, fillers. They garner about the same number of viewers week after week. They do, however, help set the ‘political tone’ for the week.
I chuckle when Rush plays a composite of various news readers using identical phrases in a report. They don’t even attempt to camouflage their propaganda. I used to watch the network evening news years ago and found many times they has basically the same ‘news’ stories and many of those stories were reported almost word-for-word.
That is the beauty of the Internet — we can find unfiltered news, but we have to look for it. Too many don’t have the time in their daily routines to look for it, however.
Another thing I noticed with the network news (cable news does it also) was that, on a slow news day, the ‘news’ was the results of a new poll. Anyone with 2 working brain cells knows that any poll can be written in such a way as to elicit the desired results. The news programs, however, do proclaim those results as ‘news’.
This makes ninety-six! Happy easter!
May go beyond. People care ... here at FR!
Schmuck-You Schumer? No thanks!
And on the holiest day of the Christian calendar.
A blessed Easter to all!
