If a nuke landed right on top of your house and you were safe underground in an appropriate shelter, you’d be able to walk out, probably for short periods of time, within the first week or two. I forget how long it takes until it is totally safe, but it isn’t very long. So maybe you’ll get cancer in 30 years. Boo Hoo!
