Neurosurgeon Ben Carson apologized Friday for comments he made about gay marriage on Sean Hannity’s TV show earlier this week.
“I think in terms of what was said on Sean Hannity’s show, that was taken completely out of context and completely misunderstood in terms of what I was trying to say,” Carson told MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “As a Christian, I have a duty to love all people and that includes people who have other sexual orientations, and I certainly do, and never had any intention of offending anyone… If anyone was offended, I apologize to you.”
The John Hopkins doctor came under scrutiny when he appeared to liken homosexuality to pedophilia and bestiality, sparking the outrage of the LGBT community.
“My thoughts are that marriage is between a man and a woman. It’s a well-established fundamental pillar of society and no group, be they gays, be they NAMBLA, be they people who believe in bestiality, it doesn’t matter what they are, they don’t get to change the definition,” the doctor, who is the director of pediatric neurosurgery, said on Hannity’s show Tuesday.
His comments also led to a petition by students at Johns Hopkins University, who want him to be removed as commencement speaker, as was initially planned. Students, colleagues and the media alike have harshly criticized Carson for his choice of words.

That Politico Headline is very misleading, but then it is Politico.
Forgetting, apparently, that there are scores of people raking over his every word and public utterance, he included
gays, Nambla, and bestiality in the same conceptual sentence, while making a larger point.
They don’t care about larger points, or reasonable discussion.
He gave them the handle they needed.
Further discussions about gay marriage needn’t provide such
easy “guilt-by-associational” lumpings-together.
They will jump on them every time.
Unfortunately for him, what could he have said by way of
“apology” for “offending”?
Could he have said “I didn’t mean to compare Nambla or those into bestiality with the proponents of same-sex marriage?
That would have been taken to mean that he WAS comparing all three of them, as co-equal political positions, both deserving of some measure of respect and legal viability.
And they aren’t-—NAMBLA and bestiality proponents will NEVER get their agendas set into law.
This is a mistake. They are pushing him back on his heels already. We can never win when we let them intimidate us for speaking our minds. When was the last time somebody on the left gave a sincere apology for anything?
I call homosexuality sick and deviant. Formerly there has been no point to or reason for apprising gays of this opinion but since they are putting their sexuality out there my honesty compels me.

Right on, Sarge. People who are abnormal in their sexual relations strongly desire to be considered normal. By changing the wording of their life style from queer to gay and then from sexual union to marriage ..presto instant normalcy.
Dr Carson is wrong on at least two counts.
First he shouldn’t have apologized.
Second and more importantly:

No it isn’t! It is a well-established fundamental pillar of NATURE, CIVILIZATION AND HUMANITY!

Whether you know it or not, for every one flagrant, noisy gay
in 100% for same-sex marriage, and anything else on the agenda, there are at least EIGHT who just want to go home, have dinner with their partners, watch TV, and think about picking out new drapes and whether the bathroom needs remodeling.The political players who are promoting same sex
marriage WANT to polarize the issue to the max, so that they can bring out some of that majority, and get them on the street and at marches. The more polarized and nasty the rhetoric gets (ALL OF IT FROM THEIR SIDE),the better chance they have of rallying the still-recalcitrant gay troops.
And the same thing to "sin".
I may tolerate the existence of adulterers (consenting ADULTS cheating on another's spouse) but I don't have to celebrate it or pretend that it isn't sinful and bad for society.

You are correct. He didn’t apologize for saying something wrong, and corrected what he originally stated. He apologist to those who didn’t understated the point he was trying to make, because, in their case, he didn’t make it clearly enough.
If they don’t want any comparisons, why do they include bisexuals and transgenders?
Not a one are worth our time. Every one of these types from faggots, lesbians to this bunch of pedophiles using a lable like NAMBLA are against everything this country was founded on. I damn sure would not want to meet my maker supporting any of them.

I've not only had it with people on our side apologizing when they don't need to, but also our Concern Trolls. Both of these mindsets show the Libs only one thing: FEAR!
We don't need the Left to destroy our side; we're doing it all on our own.
A case against a man who had sex with a male minor was dropped when the Lawrence v. Texas decision was handed down by the Supreme Court. I don't recall the specifics but I seem to recall that age of consent was 18 for homosexuality while the age for heterosexual consent was under 18. Meanwhile a case of ADULT consensual "incest" proceeded (and the couple weren't even blood related, at least one if not both of them were adopted) (a pregnancy had resulted and the affair came to light).
The leading gay rights organization is seeking to decriminalize exposing and soliciting in park bathrooms because it "unfairly" stigmatizes and convicts the homosexual community.
There are those who are also pushing for lowering the age of consent. What number are you okay with? 18? 16? 14? 12? Schools are pushing the sex positive line (as Planned Parenthood does through SEICUS or is it SIECUS). They see abstinence as UNHEALTHY because it suppresses sexual desires. "It doesn't work" is just a talking point. They literally couldn't care less if it does work. It is unfathomable to them. They (sex positive educators and medical professionals) see orgasms as a birthright to be enjoyed by everyone at every age.
And some states have only recently written laws against bestiality into the code. Some did it because of sex tourism (didn't a guy die in the Pacific Northwest from an incident with a horse?).
Pretending that it doesn't exist and that there is no political muscle behind it is a mistake.
I wouldn’t have done it either. But the headline is misleading as to what he actually did.
