WASHINGTON (AP) Reducing sulfur in gasoline and tightening emissions standards on cars beginning in 2017, as the Obama administration is proposing, would come with costs as well as rewards. The cost at the pump for cleaner air across the country could be less than a penny or as high as 9 cents a gallon, depending on who is providing the estimate.
An oil industry study says the proposed rule being unveiled Friday by the administration could increase gasoline prices by 6 cents to 9 cents a gallon. The Environmental Protection Agency estimates an increase of less than a penny and an additional $130 to the cost of a vehicle in 2025.

The parenthetical phrase is the primary objective of any regulation from this administration.
cutting soot and sulfa emissions, the mission, and it supposedly will lead to billions of dollars of savings in future healthcare.

what difference will it make?
the obama death panels will get ya in the end anyway.
It’s all about priorities, y’know.
No, time to disband the EPA and remove all Democrat(s) from any ability to harm the nation any further, as well as any Republican that does so as well.
Could not agree more!
I figure that means it will probably cost another dollar a gallon by the time they finish with it.

and one season of forest fires would do what to their numbers ?
Yup....nothing like a government estimate to make us feel warm and comfy....
Regulated sulfur in cuban black bean soup is next.
and our health care premiums “will drop by 3000%...”
Tightening sulphur emissions—
Look for drones with IR spectrometers and Hellfires to take out sources of bad gas. After all, dtdn’t the Govt. fund big studies on cow &arts?
I’m sure that technology applies to humans. Time to cut back on legumes.
While the government prints all of the money they need , they forget that we cannot do that.
They keep screwing us over and our money is finite while theirs is just a matter of printing more.
The Federal Government screw us, then the State Government takes a shot, Then the County comes along for theirs and everybody’s is going up and up and up , and our fixed incomes are staying the same.
I really believe the first thing said when a suggestion is made to a politician that perhaps John Q Public is paying too much taxes is Phuck em.
Exactly, nothing is ever as little as the government estimate. Now we have the latest case in point: the ineptly-named “Affordable Care Act”.
Meaning it's completely settled that this will result in cleaner air. Right.
The new Commerce Clause. Imagine what it will justify.
If this was truly about emissions, and not just another across the board tax rape, the bar code information on your car registration has the make, model and year and can be scanned at the pump to determine who should be paying this emission tax.
Just another of an endless series of "how can we make energy more expensive for Americans?" by the same idiots who brought us Cloward-Piven.
As early as the late 70s, there were shadow groups who, for reasons known only to themselves, wanted to make energy as expensive as Europe's.
And the enabling mechanism are criminal politicians who are elected to serve US, the functional American populace.
The original target for the eternal manipulators was $5 a gallon. Now that target has moved to around $8 to $10. Inflation, ya know.
Meanwhile, who causes inflation? The same manipulators. But they can vote themselves annual raises...
All despotic new rules seem to be justified by future, undocumented and ultimately unjustifiable "huge savings."
these SOB’s have out lived their time..
