I agree with you. This is clearly using the girls to get at the parents. If we have a problem with the parents sending the girls on an expensive vacation using taxpayer money, focus the story on the parents. There are plenty of ways to criticize the parents for this without attacking the girls as being extravagant and aristocratic.
