Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) on Thursday joined a group of Republicans threatening to filibuster gun control legislation in the Senate.
We, the undersigned, intend to oppose any legislation that would infringe on the American peoples constitutional right to bear arms, or on their ability to exercise this right without being subjected to government surveillance, he wrote in a statement on his website.

Earlier this week, GOP Sens. Rand Paul (Ky.), Mike Lee (Utah), and Ted Cruz (Texas) wrote a letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) pledging to oppose the motion to proceed to any legislation that will serve as a vehicle for any additional gun restrictions.

“Gun control is never going to pass anyway”
They said the same about Obamacare.
Me too. I get a slippery hack vibe from him, always have.
The fact that Inhofe has joined them proves you assertion.
Good point.
I’m a bit disappointed in Marco, having worked to get him elected, but he’s part of moving the bar to the right. He was certainly preferable to Charlie Crist. I wish he were as solid as Cruz, Paul, Lee, etc., but he’s part of a big change we need to make to bring more Conservatives into the FedGov.
“They said the same about Obamacare.”
Some of us also deluded ourselves into thinking the Marxist would never be re-elected given the miserable state of the economy, Benghazi, high gas prices, etc. We underestimate the skills and potency of the Marxist with a fully enlisted media on his side.
This is not about actually doing anything to curb violence. It’s all about, in 2014, being able to label Repub congressional candidates as “accomplices to murder.”
Inhofe has joined Rubio. Which can only mean any deal on gun
Coburn is making secret deals with Schumer.

........any deal on guns is dead.
Marco saw the bus leaving the station without him.
if Rubio were a man jack then, no, it would not be an issue.
But he is a dufus. They found him standing on his front porch checking the wind sock he keeps out there.
Too late. King Obama just put the pen on you guys and soon the enforcement gang will be at our door. They will probably order all citizens to register with the new Federal Agency for Gun Confiscation (FAGC) that will probably be set up. They will give us 10 days to fill in the form. Then a Federal visitor will be at your door to verify your weapon is legal. Also they will institute new penalties for failure to comply, maybe even life. Ah, shit, what’s the use. Was I kidding?
Thanks for the links, good to hear about Inhofe.
And I’m not so sure we should think Coburn is making secret deals with Shumer. Coburn, in the past, was always willing to talk with the left but doesn’t usually give in. The article that you linked to states this much:
“talks now involve their respective staffs”
“Talks broke off three weeks ago”
“Coburn rejects the idea [of permanent gun sales records]”
Still, I’m disappointed that Coburn hasn’t established the idea that the 2nd Ammendment is not negotiable. And, he shouldn’t be talking to Satan.
