Americans are migrating from less-free liberal states to more-free conservative states, where they are doing better economically, according to a new study published Thursday by the George Washington University's Mercatus Center.
The "Freedom in the 50 States" study measured economic and personal freedom using a wide range of criteria, including tax rates, government spending and debt, regulatory burdens, and state laws covering land use, union organizing, gun control, education choice and more.

There is nothing like someone from the Northeast finishing up telling everyone why they left their NE hell hole and then declaring that what we really need down here in bumpkinville is higher taxes to pay for all those wonderful programs they had in the NE.

There is that “danger”,
but really, it takes a lot of effort to pack up and move,
and you have to know that you’re moving to a place that
has a different political viewpoint than your own, as well.
So, those that move are probably more likely to assimilate than your average sheeperal.
But! The free republic states of America need to be looking at strongly asserting their 10th amendment rights,
or the libs in the blue states will use federal law to force them to be in “the social contract”, which simply means stealing from the productive to give to the non-productive.
In other words, put your liberal viewpoints out to the trash also.

Meanwhile, I’m a staunch conservative and I moved from my home of 45 years, Seattle, to central Kentucky. My vote still doesn’t count, but for exactly the opposite reason. :-)

Those mosquitos are pumping something into people that turns them into Leftwingtards. I also believe EPA knows what it is ~ over the last 30 years they have made a number of decisions regarding mosquito eradication that serve only to make it harder to get rid of them. Most recently they were willing to allow passing whales (who migrate near the shore) to die from encephilitis being spread around by mosquitos. Their concern was with the well being of California's mosquito eating toads.
Agreed. I was at a Boy Scout meeting and a new mother said she was so glad they moved here because her husband found work here and a much cheaper house, but she wished we had more social services like California.
It did not occur to her that the latter caused the lack of the former.
An these migrants from liberal states are bringing their ways with them.
Thirty years ago the town I live in was almost all conservative Republicans. We were the envy of all the other towns in the area as we had the lowest taxes and most services available. Then liberals moved in and brought their problems with them.
The problem there is the volume of the immigrants,
their non-intent to assimilate,
and the (multi-lingual) laws that make it easier to not assimilate.
If these liberal assclowns start showing up at your local city/county council meetings demanding more services,
YOU show up and tell them that that is something that you don’t do through the government here. If you want “service X”, pay for it yourself or get a group together to privately fund it.
People in the rest of the country don’t know about the Louisville Courier Journal and the pap they sold for so many years ~ turned the Louisville SMSA into a hotbed of Commies.
I believe that CO will evict the ComDems in 2014. Many CO Dems are gun owners and sportsmen. They are just as angry as we are about the gun grabs.
