According to the University System of Maryland, which monitors crime on campus, Towson University has the lowest crime statistics. Despite an increase in enrollment, violent crimes are down almost 38%.
Some students fear Heimbach’s beliefs more than an actual criminal.
“I felt very safe, but when I heard about this, I was like, `Well, now I can’t walk alone. I have to find a guy friend to walk me back to my dorm,’” said Alexandra Gainous.
In response to the white student union crime patrol, university officials say, “We do not encourage the general public to take the law into their own hands for both their personal safety and legal protection.”
Some call Heimbach a racist. He says he is simply trying to serve his community.
“The white student union is just trying to be the vanguard to help our community,” he said.
Heimbach says three males and one female armed with pepper spray will patrol the campus and report or place a person under citizen’s arrest if they believe that person is committing a crime. Heimbach says if his group sees a non-white student being violated, they will step in and help.
He graduates in May.

Old Sarge Says America Has Black-On-White Crime Problem
When my younger son was a student at Catholic U. in Washington D.C. he participated in a program called Safe Walks. Students (usually women) could call for an escort to accompany them at night.
Old Sarge, you are 100% correct and all crime statistics prove it. But you know as well as I do, that uncomfortable truth is verboten in “respectable circles” in New America.

Some people stand to lose a lot of power if there ever is acceptance of the fact that blacks are not the constant victims of white oppressors.
Which isn’t nearly as bad as the Black-On-Black Crime problem.

Heck, when my son was a patient at Johns Hopkins Hospital, they INSISTED you call a uniformed guard to walk you to and from the long-term patients’ family home that was half a block away. Day or night but especially night.
Obama has used the vernacular of Joseph Goebbels to stir up hate against Wall Street and the rich. He sent union thugs to menace Tea Party meetings and to the homes of corporate boogeymen. The White House sent busloads of east coast agitators and California La Raza minions to converge on Arizona in what he hoped would be a bloody race war. The voting public has a long learning curve but ultimately they see around the media propaganda and political theater. They have an epiphany—like 1968, 1980, 1994 or 2010.
I don’t doubt that you are right, but once the school allows one race identity group they have to allow them all. Anything else is an affront to civil rights and rank hypocrisy to boot. Of course, the correct thing to do is disallow all racial identity groups. But that ship sailed long ago in the glorious sixties, while good people stood about smiling politely and showering it with gracious accomodation.
At least the squeegee kids are gone. Twenty years ago you needed $20 or so in small bills if you intended to get to and from JH withot your car being scratched up.
Yes, it never ceased to amaze me that I could stand in the lobby of the nation’s preeminent hospital and think of its being totally surrounded by nothing but rot. It really is a fortress when you realize all of its buildings that encompass city block after city block, are connected internally, and there’s no need to step outside (fortunately).
In other news, the student Aquarius Club claims water is wet. A group discussion is being scheduled.
Baltimore is like that. There are some nice things, but they are surrounded by filthy slums. I had a friend from out of town discuss his Baltimore vacay itenerary with me. He planned to take his family for an all-day walking tour including Harbor Place, the Aquarium, Little Italy and a game at Camden Yards. When he got to the part about walking to and from Little Italy after dark I stepped in and suggested that he consider taking a cab, or eating at Harbor Place. He would have none of it and did it his way. I later asked him how it went. He ruefully admitted to me that every place that they visited was filthy, including the aquarium. He had to constantly warn the kids not to touch anything. After dinner they were hounded by aggressive panhandlers all the way back from the restaurant to Harbor Place. And the Orioles lost. (You don’t need to be Kreskin to see that one coming.)
Someone actually scheduled (and paid for!) a vacation in Balmer? Seriously? OMG!!! When I absolutely HAVE to go there, it’s in and out ASAP. As your friend noted, the Inner Harbor and Aquarium, best tourist spots in town, are filthy trash.
Balmer is THE panhandler capital of the USA. I was once on an elevator at Hopkins, going from the children’s ward (7th floor IIRC) to the ground level cafeteria and was panhandled right there on the elevator by another patient’s parent. And forget about the streets, downtown shops/restaurants, Inner Harbor. The Brits should come back and rid us of that wretched place.
Don't accept the jumpings. Do what needs to be done. Don't trust the authorities. Keep the mouth shut. Go home.
