Senator —————, I am writing this comment to you today to ask you to vote against S. 679 when the bill comes up for a vote. The bill is a violation of the 2nd, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 14th Amendments to the Constitution. The bill calls for the registration of all guns and gun owners. Such coercion would dissuade some citizens from purchasing firearms as they see fit; also, the Registration section of S.679 is an outright invasion of the privacy and anti-discrimination rights that American citizens enjoy. I am a gun owner, that fact does not make me responsible the actions of people who commit crimes with firearms, and pursuant to the 5th and 6th Amendments to the Constitution, I can not be punished for said actions without due process.
