Don't tell us that Al Sharpton and MSNBC are hypocrites? Noooo!! The Reverend Al opened his show by praising President Obama's efforts to promote tougher gun control laws. But 28 minutes into the show, a commercial appeared for, of all things . . . Henry Repeating Rifles.
Go to Henry Rifle's website and you'll find one rifle described as "big, brutal and beautiful" and noting that it fires ammunition "said to have killed more game, big and small, and more men, good and bad, than any other in existence." Another rifle offered for sale, the AR-7, is based on a military rifle and emphasizes that given its design "you can carry a large quantity of ammunition." Oh the horror!

Agree, Henry is a nice family run gun manufacturer and every one with a wood stock I’ve seen has great grain and finish. Their .22 lever action is a cowboy classic. The factory used to be in NYC, but now is over in N.J.

Henry Repeaters are a Great American Tradition, and I wish I was rich like Eaker so I could afford one.
But lets be candid. If you want big and brutal .....

That Henry
is fun to shoot, and the ergonomics are awesome.
I'd never fired a lever action before but the action was smooth and
natural using just the info I guess I picked up from old cowboy movies.
The Mosin is more like shouldering a fence post and having someone beat on it with a sledge hammer.
Dang I love that Mosin.

Widener’s has a new shipment of the M44 priced at $219 and they are in very good condition, often all numbers matching on them. I am so tempted! They also have brand new Yugo M57 Toks for $259, but those are not quite as tempting.

You fired one yet? It was love at first boom for me.
I’d recommend highly any Mosin variant.

I have a pristine 91/30 that I shoot occasionally. Have yet to attach an optic. Shoots three inch groups at 100 yards and I can't see well enough beyond that to be shooting things anyway.
BTW, have you ever seen what a 7.62 x 54 does to body armor?

BTW, have you ever seen what a 7.62 x 54 does to body armor? Nope, but I image the results ain't pretty.
