Doctor Raoul died Saturday of a rare form of cancer. He was 58.
Raoul's family contacted us this morning to see if they could find out more about his activities as an activist.
This is such a shock. His family is looking for photos and stories about him.
He is and always will be a Free Republic icon.
He kind of fell off the face of the earth about 2 or 3 years ago now. All attempts we made to reach him failed.
If you have photos please contact me. Please feel free to post stories and I will make sure the family sees this thread.
A ledgendary FReeper; the posts and the linked threads say it all. Our great loss is Heaven’s gain. Sad day. Prayers up for his loved ones.
A great patriot, a great wit who heaped well deserved ridicule on the hypocritical liberal left, and one always of good cheer and optimism. We have missed you over the past few years; all patriots everywhere will miss you as well whether they knew you or not.
Deepest sympathy and prayers for the good doctor’s immediate family.
To the leftists—There is a 100% probability of rain with a high probability of soap. You are advised to go inside immediately. Should you not fear water, you are invited to “Swim to Cuba!”
Remember:
“Wash up! Like me!
Soap is cheap and Water’s free!”
And who can forget Raoul bellowing out “Swim to Cuba” that very cold January day in front of the Marine Barracks at the CANSWER crowd?
That, if I recall, made it to C-SPAM.
May Doctor Raoul rest in God’s peace.
Prayers for and condolences to his family and friends.

Dave to Gene: “...Good to hear that you and Darlie are doing well. We miss you here in Florida.”
YES! it is and YES! we do, Gene!
We miss “OldGlory”, too. I haven’t heard from her, nor has she posted on FR, since she sold her house here (due to health concerns) and moved near her son in Colorado.
I have so many pictures (packed away) of all of us at the various FR events, many of which included Dr. Raoul and are posted here in this thread. Brings back so many FOND FReeping memories!
Eagles up and keep the faith! Hope we get to see you sometime soon!
Oh, no!! He was such a light on FR in the early days, a hero to many of us. A true loss to our country. Rest in peace, Raoul. :(
We've been on a long trip to Florida and South Carolina for the past couple of weeks (typing this on an iPad now while hubby drives up I-95 back to Connecticut). I don't have access to my usual ping lists, nor any photos, etc.
We have so many fond memories of our beloved Doctor Raoul, back during the golden era of FReeper activism back around 2000-2006 or so... I'll probably do a longer post tomorrow when I have more time.
May God comfort Doctor Raoul's family and friends.
To Doctor Raoul: Thank you, and Rest in Peace, my good FRiend... You will be missed.
May he RIP. What a loss to this community.
I have received the following from Dr Raoul’s family:
“Please post that we are so overwhelmed by the response and out pouring of love that everyone had for our father.....it is so nice to see the other side of him that wasn’t shared with us while he was living.”
Also, for those that want to send cards and correspondence to the family, they asked that those items be sent to ASC&P, PO Box 255, Uwchland, PA 19480. Just mark on the envelope Dr. Raoul so that they can be identified.
Oh, LOL! You made me remember that! He could poke a stick in their eye with a smile on his face from a transcendent love of his fellow man. His priorities were in order.
Awesome!!!! Thanks so much!
Thanks, KC. You are very kind.
Some great pics of Doctor Raoul here. Hope his family enjoys them.
OUTSTANDING!!! Thank you.
CB, that is wonderful!
For privacy reasons, the details will be sent by FReepmail to those wishing to attend. Otherwise, please mail your condolences to the address mentioned above:
