Recall Mike McLachlan
Official grievance against Mike McLachlan:
"Representative McLachlan campaigned as a defender of the 2nd Amendment.
Yet he said on the House floor I believe there is no doubt that the overwhelming support of the people that were there were opposed to any restriction whatsoever . No constitutional right, not even the 2nd Amendment is absolute. He voted for these bills despite acknowledging overwhelming opposition to these bills from his constituency.
Representative McLachlan campaigned to be a representative that carries Southwest Colorados common sense values to our State legislature."
Instead he introduced a 15 round magazine limit, an arbitrary number that is neither standard nor common on any production rifle and which infringes on the right of Coloradans to effectively defend themselves.
Representative McLachlan has betrayed the trust of his constituents, his oath to uphold the 2nd Amendment and the rights of gun owners by voting YES on gun control measures in both the Judiciary Committee and the House of representatives. He has blatantly refused to carry out the acknowledged desires of the overwhelming number of the very people he was elected to represent.
He has failed to represent the values and opinions of the citizens of the 59th District and should be recalled from service."
Timeline:
3/20/13 - Petition redelivered with necessary changes, awaiting certification.
3/5/13 - Petition delivered to Secretary of State for certification.
The first recall has been filed with the Colorado SOS. Please help support the cleanup and housekeeping that Colorado must do to clear these Rats out and get our beautiful state back. A recall of Sen John Morse and Sen. Evie Hudak are underway as well.
I am posting this because there has been much confusion as to what petitions for recall are in the works. McLachlan's is the first one to my knowledge that has been accepted by the Secretary Of State. Please add to this if you know of others and let's all do what we can to help.
Im not a resident of CO but Im an American..What can I do to help?
What are the required numbers and what happens afterwards?
What a moron.
I want to see all of these recalls succeed! Maybe that will save some other states the grief that we are going through, as well as send a strong message to the US Senate.
Any recall on Cickenpoopedr the governor?
It’s in the preliminary stages, I think.
I’ll be signing the petition against McLachlan ASAP.
Thanks for posting this, Colorado Doug.
We need to focus on the McLachlan recall.
If we start targeting Hudak and others, the union money will flood in, and we’ll accomplish nothing.
The number of valid signatures required to force a special recall election is 25% of the votes cast in the last election for the official being recalled.
I hope that tar and feathers follow
Where can I go to find out who is selling me out?
I have heard that one is in the works. That, however, might be a harder nut to crack. In a conservative county like El Paso, I have no doubt that Morse will be gone though. I still don't know how he got in, in the first place. Hippies from Manitou Springs, I suppose.
Where can I go to find out who is selling me out?
What do you mean?
I have sent BFDF a link to this thread. I’m hoping that they may join Free Republic and give us an update on everything.
Get rid of this POS. Colorado’s rats are some of the most loathsome, led by NAMBLA-Ferrandino.
Sheriff Maketa releases statement regarding gun control stance
Historically, any citizen would be allowed to speak if they arrived at the Capitol early and signed up on testimony records. Although sign up sheets were in place and citizens including myself signed up, we were completely disregarded. Minutes after I signed up to testify, I learned a different process would be utilized and testimony was based on three categories: experts, preferred witnesses, and public witnesses. No explanation was provided to define expert or preferred witness. I was told this decision was made by the senate president and the chairperson of the hearing committee. Additionally, experts would have no time constraints and all others would be restricted to three minutes.
As I made my way out of the Capitol, I was shocked at the number of people who attended these hearings. It's estimated the number of people in attendance reached 1,000. I spoke to several and was told they just wanted their voice to be heard.
I am not sharing this because of the outcome of the hearings that day; rather I am sharing this because of the process implemented and the faces of all those citizens that were never permitted to participate in the process. Government is supposed to be by the people, for the people and on this day, they were crushed and kicked to the side. Special interest coalitions and hand picked experts with no relevant expertise trumped our citizens.

Colorado is NOT going down without a fight!
Force a recall, or vote them ALL out!
Good question. We need to find out.
