I don’t know... That part’s counter intuitive to me. It seems to me that some races of people are more likely to become slaves than others. I would think that a less violent race would be more apt to be subjected to slavery.

For example, the American Indian population did not make very good slaves. One of the reason we imported blacks...

The American Indian is similar to the zebra... so the horse does the plowing...

Actually, about 95% of South America and meso American indians died from the great plagues that raged here in the1480 to 1560 or so period ~ truly dreadful. Then, North America got hit big time from about 1550 to 1640 ~ with a last big die off of Indians in the 1840s.

Earlier a large percentage of white immigrants from Europe died from the same causes ~ Jamestown VA has a large hill where over 60,000 of the first 61000 settlers are buried ~ in mass graves ~ dead from plagues.

Slaves were brought simply because the Americas ran out of people, and when malaria came back the land couldn't even be resettled. Black people from areas with sickle cell disease were suitable.
