I say this not as an advocate of its demise or restructuring

Then there's no need for me to read the rest of his article.

RNC? It might as well be the right arm of the DNC.
It is just another bullet in the demise of America as we knew it.

Sorry, Davy -- those are the options available. Failure to choose one of these is to affirmatively choose the other.

Over here, the ‘Tory’ party (helped by its coalition with the LibDems and led by ultra-wet Cameron) seems to stand where the British Labour Party was about 40 years ago. Up springs the UK Independence Party which seems to be where the Tories were 40 years ago. Politics is like a caterpillar track - disappearing off to the left and being renewed from the right. The Tea Party is the hope for the future.

The guess here is both political parties have their problems. Wait til next year when the full force of Obamacare kicks in, along with gun control in the red states, and Obama’s incompetence. The pubbies with their back stabbing spineless hacks will also suffer. Neither one will have a lock on the electorate.

Trouble Brewing In the GOP

I hope so. The GOP is a joke.

At this point, I think it can’t make a difference..Culturally, the US is going the way of Rome and anyone who objects will be vilified. No nation can survive political correctness to the level it is practiced in America today. Dr. Ben Carson is the voice in the wilderness, but did he reach true visibility too late?..Only time will tell.

Democrats has been taken over by the socialists and the republicans filled the vacuum.

There is no other way that I see for Republican survival. The defeat of the Left can wait. For many Conservatives like myself, defeat of the RINO faction is now a number one priority.

"What's the point of winning elections if the price is American Exceptionalism?", David Limbaugh rhetorically asked.

The point of winning if the price is American Exceptionalism is that the consultants will still get paid, and the GOP elites will still have political power. They will still win, even though we, the conservatives lose. Why should they care?

Hesitate to advise but we in Canada used to have a Progressive Conservative Party that seemed akin to the Republican party of today.

A regional party, the Reform Party, developed and spread, forcing the eventual dissolution of the “Progressive Conservative” Party and the formation of today’s Conservative Party.

As this process took place, the conservative vote was split enabling the Liberal Party to form 3 consecutive majority and one minority government.

The problem applying this to your situation is that our Liberal Party of the time was nowhere near as radically left as the bunch controlling the Democratic Party at present.

The question becomes, can the US, as founded, survive the transition period.

is anyone taking into account the significant growth of the Republican Party at county and tate level?? Here in NC the local GOP is becoming strong and flexing it’s muscle, IMO.

The Republicans could probably find a willing youth audience for all their positions except on homosexual marriage. At least, that’s what the “experts” say. So they’re telling us that we could get people to agree with 90+% of our positions, but if we don’t give in on homo marriage, we’ll lose them. I find that difficult to believe. If some voter agrees with us on the great majority of the issues, they’re not going to throw us over for some issue that affects only 2% of the populations and of that pct. a significant pct. themselves don’t care about the issue.

“The hard truth is that the movement inside the Republican Party to abandon social conservatism is nothing short of a political death wish. Denying it will not alter the reality.’

This is in the comments section:

“I hope the GOP doesn’t bend backwards on gay marriage, but they are still a million times better than the Democrats as long as they oppose abortion.”

When the GOP bows down to homosexuals, it won’t be long before it also bows down to abortion. When you crawl on your knees to Satan, and ask what he wants, he’ll eventually want it all.
